For more information about Collegis Education, please visit www.CollegisEducation.com.The ITSS – A/V Specialist position is expected to provide exceptional customer and managed A/V and IT services to our partners and employees. Partners including but not limited to the current and future portfolio of clients of Collegis Education (i.e. Rasmussen University, Cabrini University, Concordia University Texas, Knox College and others).
Primary responsibilities include serving as the Audio/Video technology specialist for Collegis partners, as well as supporting technologies that connect or will be used in conjunction with Audio/Video Technologies including to serve as a SME to all ITSS technicians on A/V technology. Secondary responsibilities will be providing computer support to students, faculty, and employees which includes PC, Server, LAN, Telephony and software support.The ITSS – A/V Specialist also provides escalated support to the Personal Support Center on a rotating basis. The Support department runs 24x7x365 and ITSS – A/V Specialist may be required to provide support during off hours or at off-site locations. Assignments of duties and daily tasks can change on a regular basis and focus can be reflected in a change in accounts supported. The ITSS – A/V Specialist is managed on their performance, customer service, adherence to processes, and continued commitment to success and learning.
Primary Responsibilities, Essential Functions and Requirements:
Communication & Professionalism:
The ITSS – A/V Specialist role is one that supports multiple clients in various technical scenarios. Maintaining excellent customer service and professional communication is critical to the success of individuals within this position.
- Be accountable for seeing assigned cases and tasks to completion by providing detailed documentation of troubleshooting steps taken for each support request. After completion, ensure user expectations are met to ensure the issue is fully resolved.
- Ensure professional and courteous communication is maintained in all interactions including face to face, over the phone, via email, and chat correspondences.
- Adhere to and enforce company and client information security policies
- Reduce risk of theft, fraud, or misuse of information assets by acting as the data steward for the application(s) you administer
- Manage and train student workers with A/V components and setting up meetings and events
Technical Support:
- Assisting with the delivery, installation, operation and retrieval of audio/visual equipment for daily meetings, University events, and class setups in accordance with the daily reservation calendar and just-in-time requests.
- Operating audio/visual systems integrated with video conferencing, projection, audio, video recording, playback and remote-control devices.
- Assisting with the coordination of AV support University events held at facilities, which may include interaction with vendors and other facility support staff.
- Operating video cameras to record University programs and events, performing video and audio duplication, including media labeling and documentation
- Assisting with the implementation of new technologies, equipment, and network services related to video conference and audio/visual services University wide.
- Assisting with identifying, troubleshooting, and resolving A/V equipment and connectivity issues.
- Ability to set up, interconnect and operate audio/visual equipment, including LCD projectors and screens, DVD-VHS decks, video switchers, document cameras and computers.
- Assisting with maintaining a thorough inventory of A/V equipment and supplies, and monitoring the repair and replacement of non-working, damaged and/or obsolete equipment
- Scheduling, launching, and troubleshooting web conferencing applications
- Coordinate with vendors and installation teams.
- Set up camera equipment for events, lectures, and other projects as required.
- Maintain, troubleshoot, and repair all supported A/V implementations, including projectors, TVs, smart screens, audio equipment, computers, tablets, and other devices.
- All other duties as assigned
- Partner with other ITSS staff and leadership to develop Standard Operating Procedures, FAQs and maintain knowledgebase content
- Participate and maintain real-time inventory controls of asset deployments and decommissions.
- Be available in the event of outages and urgent needs (may be after hours)
- Adhere to and enforce the appropriate information security policies based on the sensitivity of company data and report any security related issues
- Reduce risk of theft, fraud, or misuse of information assets by acting as the data steward for the application(s) you administer
- Maintain and support a mixed PC and MAC technology environment
- When needed diagnose and repair telecom and networking infrastructure partnering with Network team for guidance
- Support user accounts within Windows Activate Directory, Microsoft Office 365 and Microsoft Exchange
Requirements
- Minimum 2 years’ experience supporting AV events and staging
- In-Depth experience with various Audio-Visual implementations and assessments along with actively coordinating with vendors and installation teams
- Support setting up and coordinating meetings using a variety of platforms (Teams, Zoom, WebEx, etc)
- Ability to provide after-hours support
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills
- Attention to detail, with a focus on systems processes adherence and organizational skills
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills
- Self-starter with the ability to work independently as well as within a team environment
- Periodic travel may be required to remote sites for on-site support or A/V Implementation
Value added Skills:
- Mixing livestreams and hosted video events
- Video post-production a bonus
Education, Certifications and Licensures:
- Two-year degree or higher is preferred or equivalent work experience
- Microsoft, CompTIA A+ or other technical certificates desired
