ESSENTIAL RESPONSIBILITIES


  • Analyze applicable codes, standards, and specifications for compliance
  • Monitor field testing
  • Perform general field inspection of construction work
  • Measure, calculate, and report installed quantities
  • Prepare IDR’s and DCR’s
  • Monitor materials sampling and testing schedules
  • Interface with CM Quality Coordinator
  • Certifications including IDOT Documentation of Contract Quantities
  • Monitoring the progress of contractor’s work
  • Maintaining Quantity Book
  • Upkeep of Daily Logs and Contractor Logs
  • Conducting weekly progress meetings
  • Monitoring Field Staff
  • Training of Field Staff

BACKGROUND & EXPERIENCE EXPECTATIONS:


  • Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in Civil Engineering
  • 5+ years’ experience working with Chicago DOT, IDOT, Illinois Tollway, or comparable transportation agencies
  • GPS knowledge a plus
  • GIS knowledge a plus
  • A sense of humor
