We’re excited about the possibility of you joining our mission. We are looking for a Senior IT Systems Administrator to join our growing IT team. This role plays a critical role in ensuring the smooth operation and security of our organization's IT infrastructure. This position is responsible for maintaining and supporting a wide range of computer systems, servers, networks, and applications.
The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and technically skilled individual with a strong understanding of IT best practices and a passion for problem-solving.This role will be based out of our Burr Ridge and Elmhurst locations 5 days/week.
About the role:
- Install, configure, and maintain servers, desktops, laptops, and network devices.
- Manage user accounts, permissions, and group policies.
- Implement and maintain system security measures, including firewalls, intrusion detection systems, and antivirus software.
- Perform regular backups and data recovery procedures.
- Monitor system performance and proactively identify potential issues.
- Apply system updates and patches to ensure security and functionality.
- Manage and maintain the organization's network infrastructure, including switches, routers, and firewalls.
- Troubleshoot network connectivity issues.
- Configure and manage network security settings.
- Monitor network traffic and performance.
- Diagnose and resolve hardware, software, and network problems.
- Escalate complex issues to senior IT staff as needed.
- Document troubleshooting procedures and solutions.
- Assist with IT project implementation and rollouts.
- Perform data migration tasks.
- Participate in testing and validation of new systems.
- Provide technical support to users regarding hardware, software, and network issues.
- Develop and maintain user documentation.
- Train users on new technologies and systems.
- Stay up-to-date on the latest IT trends and technologies.
- Adhere to company policies and procedures for IT security and data privacy.
- Maintain a professional and positive attitude while interacting with users and colleagues.
Experience & Skills we value:
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or related field preferred or equivalent combination of experience and certifications.
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in IT administration, with proven ability to manage and support complex IT systems.
- Strong understanding of hardware, software, and network principles.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Time management and organizational skills.
- Proficiency in computer applications (e.g., Microsoft Office Suite, ticketing systems, system monitoring tools).
