RESCAR is rapidly growing and searching for an FRA Certified Locomotive Engineer to fill our open position in Houston, Texas.An FRA Certified Locomotive Engineer is responsible for operating locomotives safely and efficiently. The FRA certification requires additional protocol to be followed to meet the specifications of the Federal Code of Regulations which much be adhered to strictly.

What You'll Do:


  • Operate locomotives safely and efficiently
  • Perform pre-trip inspections of engines and other equipment
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of locomotives
  • Communicate with proper authority to receive permission to occupy track using radio or other communication devices
  • Ensure compliance with all necessary regulations
  • Detect and diagnose mechanical problems and perform basic maintenance tasks on locomotives
  • Complete daily inspections of equipment and communicate any deficiencies
  • In-depth knowledge of requirements of the Code of Federal Regulations regarding locomotives engineers.

What You'll Need:


  • High school diploma or equivalent
  • Valid driver's license
  • Completion of a locomotive engineering training program
  • Ability to operate locomotives safely and efficiently
  • Knowledge of mechanical systems and basic maintenance tasks
  • Excellent communication and problem solving skills
  • Ability to work flexible hours and for extended periods of time
  • The desire to work hard for potential to grow with a great company!
