Distribution systems may be in an overhead (OH), underground (UG), or Underground Residential Development (URD) environment. Work packages will be developed using Geographic Information Systems (GIS), computer aided design tools, and work management systems. Project work will require performing engineering calculations that may include structural analysis of poles, guying, cable pulling, transformer sizing, voltage drop and flicker, and coordination of protective devices. Assignments may also include preparing tree trimming requests, facilitating permits, development of bill of materials, and estimating costs. Candidate must be highly detail oriented and organized.

The successful candidate must demonstrate the following minimum qualifications: 


  • 7+ years related engineering and/or design experience. 
  • 2+ years of project management experience within the Electric Industry, Construction Management or Heavy Commercial Construction Industry. Electric Distribution management experience is preferred. 
  • 1+ year supervising junior engineers preferred. 
  • Experience with distribution design: reconductoring projects, voltage conversion projects, distribution automation projects, and new business projects. 
  • Bachelor of Science in Engineering from an ABET accredited institution.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills Other valued qualifications include: 
  • Knowledge of AutoCAD Civil 3D, MicroStation or GIS platforms 
  • Licensed Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) 
  • Experience developing engineering/project cost estimates and schedules. 
  • Experience building and managing engineering and/or design teams.
