ROLE: 3D Artist

ROLE OVERVIEW:
As a 3D Experiential Designer at SALT XC, you should have extensive knowledge of 3D design software (ideally more than one) and a true sense of experiential thinking when it comes to consumer journey and flow. Ultimately, an excellent hire for this role will ensure that the world-class ideas for our clients are brought to life at the concept phase in a way that excites and helps us lock in fresh new ideas in the XM space.
RESPONSIBILTIES:
- Manage all 3D conceptual design projects from concept to delivery
- Manage 3D designs from conception to delivery
- Review junior designer drafts to ensure quality
- Generate fresh concepts in partnership with our Creative leads
- Work alongside fellow designers to implement 2D elements into concepts
- Ensure brand consistency throughout various marketing projects
- Liaise between the marketing and design teams to ensure deadlines are met
- Keep up to date with industry developments
- Supervise other graphic designers or graphic arts technicians
- Estimate time to complete graphic designs and illustrations
- Adapt existing illustrations
- Assist in developing storyboards for electronic productions such as multimedia, interactive and digital products and television advertising and productions
- Develop and produce realistic or representational sketches and final illustrations
- Produce 2-D and 3-D animated drawings or computer illustrations
- Work in a multidisciplinary environment
- Co-ordinate all aspects of production for print, audio-visual or electronic materials
- Determine the medium best suited to produce the desired visual effect and the most appropriate vehicle for communication
- Develop the graphic elements that meet the clients' objectives
- Establish guidelines for illustrators or photographers
- Prepare sketches, layouts and graphic elements
- Use existing photo and illustration banks and typography guides
EXPERIENCE & SKILLS
- A university degree in visual arts with specialization in graphic design, commercial art, creative advertising, graphic communications or cartooning or completion of a college diploma program in graphic arts is required.
- A minimum of 2 years of experience is required more would be preferred
- Must have extensive knowledge of at least 1 or more 3D design software e.g. Autodesk, Blender, ZBrush, SketchUp
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, under pressure within tight timelines
- Excellent attention to creative detail
- Client focused, efficient with excellent interpersonal skills
- Excellent written and oral communicator
- Ability to show initiative, and works well as a team player
- Ability to supervise junior designers
- English speaking is required
