We are on a quest for a dynamic Data Engineer who excels in Snowflake and dbt to bring insight and innovation to our company. In this pivotal role, you will craft the foundational data structures that empower our business decisions. Location - Remote or Hybrid (Chicago-based)
About the role:
In our team, you'll harness your expertise to:
- Design, construct, install, test, and maintain highly scalable data management systems and processes.
- Innovate and extend our data infrastructure, integrating cutting-edge data management technologies and software engineering practices.
- Collaborate alongside data scientists and analysts to enrich our data ecosystem.
- Implement robust data testing frameworks to ensure utmost data quality.
- Strategically optimize data structures and streamline pipelines to boost performance and cost-efficiency.
Experience & Skills we value:
The ideal candidate will possess a strong work ethic and the capacity to independently define and manage projects after being provided with high-level objectives. Your skill set should reveal:
- A solid track record with at least 5 years in data engineering.
- Proven experience in taking initiative to identify needs, move projects forward and deliver results.
- Expertise in Snowflake, with a solid understanding of data modeling and performance optimization.
- Expertise in dbt, with deep experience in pipeline optimization, writing macros, and managing deployments.
- Proficiency in constructing and managing large-scale data architectures using AWS, Terraform, Github Actions, and Airflow.
- Excellent problem-solving capabilities with a flair for enhancing data systems.
- Exceptional communication skills that promote effective teamwork.
