**This is a hybrid opportunity in our Baltimore, MD office supporting our partner, Pollard & Associates**
What you'll do:
- Maintain a detailed understanding and ability to interpret legal plan documents for 401(k), Cash Balance, and Defined Benefit Plans
- Knowledge of Internal Revenue Code provisions, including a familiarity with prototype documents
- Prepare and maintain all plan documents for new or takeover retirement plans, including plan amendments, Summary Plan Description, Trust documents, loan procedures, and required participant notices
- Prepare amendments for existing clients as requested, including preparation of Summary of Material Modifications and updated participant notices
- Enter or update plan provisions into various recordkeeper partner systems
- Ability to work with recordkeeping partners to access, download or update participant 404a5 and QDIA notices
- Successfully manage and execute pln document restatements from start to finish (with assistance as necessary due to volume during restatement period)
- Notice Distribution Service oversight, including generating list of participants required to receive notices from multiple data sources, locating notices on recordkeeper websites, distributing notices in a timely manner, maintaining and updating employee records, tracking annual progress on fulfillment
- Maintain up-to date knowledge of current and proposed legislative changes with regard to ERISA law through self-study, webinars and company-sponsored training sessions
- Provide effective verbal and written communications in a clear, concise, and informative manner internally and externally
- Assist IRS and DOL auditors with respect to all plan document requests, if the plan is subject to an IRS or DOL audit
Who you are:
- Minimum 3 years of 401(k) industry or plan administration experience
- Exceptional knowledge of general defined contributions plan rules and regulations
- Ability to interpret basic plan documents, plan adoption agreements and amendments
- Excellent verbal, written, analytical, and organizational skills and a keen attention to detail
- Excellent customer service skills
- Strong initiative, integrity, self-motivation, and results orientation
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to collect, organize and analyze data
- Proficiency in MS Office, including Word, Excel, Outlook
- ASPPA and/or NIPA credentials preferred, or willingness to work towards credentials
- Expertise in spreadsheet applications such as Excel for data manipulation
- Experience with FT William document software preferred but not required
