Firewall & Networking Manager

Ascend Technologies, LLC in Chicago, IL seeks Firewall & Networking Manager. Manage the Firewall & Networking Team, assigned implementations, and services for Ascends clients. Work with Project manager to ensure assigned projects are completed on time and in adherence with the requirements. Ensure that the managed service responsibilities of the team are consistently completed. Work closely with the VP of Cybersecurity to execute additional duties and strategic initiatives that may be assigned. Assign and lead the daily tactical management of the team.

Implement the cybersecurity tools and services as needed. Align the resources on all cybersecurity projects and incidents as needed. Provide quality assurance on projects and incidents to verify they have been resolved correctly. Serve as an internal facilitator between Ascend departments. Provide high-end customer service per client expectations. Ensure contract adherence to reporting, SLAs, and requirements. Demonstrate impeccable communication to clients and co-workers. Create, document, and update any processes for the team.

Train and onboard new team members. Partner with other teams on internal project and growth initiatives as requested. Lead weekly team meeting. Execute regular one-on-one meetings with team members. Ensure weekly timecard tracking and adherence. Work with the VP of Cybersecurity to establish team trainings and certifications. 100% telecommuting from home allowed from anywhere in the United States.Must possess 6 years of experience in the job offered or in a related Firewall or Networking role, 2 years of which must be in an MSP (managed service provider) role.

Must also possess experience with (i) using MS Visio to create customer or internal Network/Infrastructure diagrams to document customer or internal environments; (ii) Stencils and integrating them into documentation; (iii) creating Visio templates; (iv) MS Teams Channel & Chat creation and administration; (v) tying MS Teams into MS SharePoint; (vi) MS SharePoint administration for team members and creation of SharePoint content shareable across teams; (vii) MS Outlook processes distribution lists, adding and deleting users through Office 365 Administration and general functions Outlook is used for sending/receiving EMails, and Scheduling Meetings; (viii) 2 years of management experience leading a Network Engineering team; and (ix) 2 years of experience using an ITSM ticketing tool.

Must also possess certifications with: NSE 2 & NSE 1 – Fortinet; Assurance Expert (SCAE); CCNA – Cisco Certified Network Associate; Cisco UCCX Administrator; CISCO IP Routing- Implementing Cisco IP Routing; CISCO – Implementing Switch Networks; CISCO – Implementing Wireless Network Fundamentals; ITIL® Foundation Certification; and Vanguard Admin.
