THE OPPORTUNITY
As a Data Governance Specialist at Wavicle you will be responsible for establishing and maintaining the framework and processes that ensure our data assets are managed effectively across the organization. You will collaborate closely with various stakeholders to implement data governance policies, procedures, and standards that align with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
WHAT YOU WILL GET TO DO
- Develop and implement data governance policies, standards, and frameworks.
- Define data governance processes and workflows to ensure data quality, integrity, and security.
- Collaborate with stakeholders across different departments to establish data ownership and accountability.
- Conduct regular assessments and audits to monitor compliance with data governance policies.
- Implement data classification and data lifecycle management practices.
- Develop and maintain data quality metrics and ensure they are monitored and reported on regularly.
- Provide guidance and support to business units on data governance best practices and procedures.
- Lead data governance training and awareness programs for staff members.
- Stay current with industry trends and regulatory requirements related to data governance and data management.
WHAT YOU BRING TO THE TEAM
- Be a thought leader in data governance and experience in implementing data governance for complex multi-billion-dollar enterprises.
- Possess a strong understanding of data mesh, data products, and de-centralized data governance.
- Experience with data lineage, data quality, data security, and metadata management.
- Understanding of data governance tools such as Collibra and Informatica in terms of their strengths and weaknesses.
- Bachelor or Master’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, Information Systems or relevant degree is required.
- Candidates can reside anywhere in the U.S. and work remotely; however, must be able to work during client business hours (8 a.m. - 5 p.m. CT).
- Willingness to travel up to 50%
