LanzaTech was founded on the belief that we have enough carbon above ground to make everything we need. Through our biorecycling technology, we transform carbon into sustainable raw materials, replacing the need for virgin fossil carbon in consumer goods and transport fuels. We are building the circular carbon economy.
Our impact:
To date, we have abated over 300,000 tons of carbon dioxide (the equivalent amount of CO2 needed to charge 30,346,895,586 smartphones) across three commercial plants, and will soon have the capacity to abate 500,000 tons annually with our additional future plants.

Maintenance Technician I - Temporary
Employment Timeline:
Initial contract for 6 months After a performance evaluation, possible contract extension for another 6 monthsKey duties
- Assist in handling operational emergencies or urgent issues as they arise
- Maintaining alarms systems and gas detectors including preventive maintenance tasks basic troubleshooting of HMI
- Maintaining safety equipment and facilities including but not limited to fire extinguishers, eyewash stations, and first aid kits
- Responsible for daily waste handling
- Review manuals, extract information, and write instructions to provide training to peers and end-users on the proper and safe operation in areas of responsibility
- Responsible for documenting equipment maintenance and work that was undertaken to ensure accuracy of records in the maintenance record system (i.e. NetSuite)
- Work with Supply Chain to ensure parts are adequately stocked for maintenance activities
- Maintaining awareness of Health & Safety issues and reporting as appropriate
- Be an active member of the alarm responder team for afterhours duties
- Willing to work late hours as the job requires
- Assist with all areas of work and act as backup for Technician II and Technician III responsibilities
Required Qualifications
- Excellent communication skills
- Problem solving / Decision making skills / Self-Starter
- Results / Detail oriented, able to work with a sense of urgency.
- The employee must understand and comply with LanzaTech Safety guidelines and housekeeping practices, trainings and wear appropriate PPE when necessary
Preferred Knowledge/Skills
- Associates Degree
- Experience with hazardous materials (chemicals)
- Prior experience with forklift operations
Physical Requirements/Work Environment
- The employee must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds
- Climb stairs
- Work from elevated platforms and or ladder
- Prolonged periods of sitting at a desk and working on a computer
- Prolonged periods of standing in the lab
- On site 5 days a week | Hours: 7:30am – 3:30pm
