TheSenior Associate on our Retirement Plan Advisory Services team will provide various advisory services, client management, process management, project/analytics research, and operations support for Choreo’s retirement plan practice.
This position will be based in Des Moines, IA or Rockford, IL.
Primary Responsibilities:
- Serve as a retirement plan consultant to Retirement Plan Advisory Services clients.
- Assist with the fiduciary process implementation for multiple clients using a standardized process
- Assist and help coordinate TPA and recordkeeper relationships and be able to articulate the unique service capabilities of each
- Collect and analyze data and prepare plan review and benchmarking reports
- Prepare quarterly investment due to diligence reports
- Assist with plan conversions to various recordkeeping platforms
- Assist and coordinate investment updates on multiple recordkeeping systems at once
- Research client and participant questions using the recordkeeper/vendor websites
- Assist with multiple client and practice related projects at one time
- Ability to communicate with clients and work through client service-related issues
- Prepare and facilitate reports and presentations for quarterly client materials/meetings
- Conduct employee education meetings, both group, and one-on-one
- Assist with tracking business activity - manage pipeline reporting for multiple advisory practice locations
- Meet high-level service expectations from clients and internal partners
Basic Qualifications:
- Minimum of 3 years in retirement plan industry, which may include relationship management, retirement plan administration, and basic investment knowledge
- Bachelor’s Degree or Equivalent Work Experience
- Series 65 or equivalent license – or ability and willingness to attain license within three months
- Knowledge of retirement plan rules, ERISA laws, and administration
- Ability to travel to client locations, including overnight travel
- Self-motivated and possess a sense of urgency
- Ability to work alone or as part of a team - both locally and regionally
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Strong mathematical and analytical skills
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and problem solving skills
- Excellent organizational skills with the ability to prioritize multiple tasks, projects, and assignments
- Ability to work efficiently, effectively, and independently to see projects through to conclusion
- Strong ethical and professional standards
- Flexibility, adaptability, and strong team orientation
- Basic knowledge of mutual fund investments
- Ability to present material to clients and prospective clients as part of a team
- Ability to present education topics to plan participants
- Demonstrate advanced Excel and PowerPoint proficiency
