Job Title: Subject Matter Expert (SME)
Location: Remote, with occasional travel to Washington, DC Job Summary: The Subject Matter Expert (SME) will provide specialized knowledge and expertise to support the Department of Labor (DOL) technical assistance and training projects. The SME will offer insights and guidance based on extensive experience in workforce development, particularly in relation to DOL programs and initiatives. Key Responsibilities:
Provide expert advice and insights on workforce development issues and DOL programs.
Provide guidance and oversight to the team that develops and delivers technical assistance and training materials for DOL projects.
Review the needs assessments and provide guidance to identify gaps and opportunities in current workforce development practices.
Collaborate with project teams to develop strategies and solutions to improve workforce development outcomes.
Provide strategic oversight to the teaming developing and analyzing workforce development programs and initiatives.
Make recommendations on how to best facilitate workshops, training sessions, and meetings with stakeholders.
Stay updated on the latest trends and best practices in workforce development and DOL initiatives.
Review major project reports and deliverables and provide internal feedback to the team before they are submitted to the client.
Qualifications:
Master’s degree in industrial organization, workforce development, public administration, or a related field; extensive field experience may be considered in lieu of a degree.
Six or more years of experience in workforce development, with specific experience supporting DOL programs.
Strong knowledge of DOL programs, policies, and procedures.
Excellent communication and presentation skills.
Ability to work collaboratively with diverse stakeholders.
Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
Ability to travel as needed.
