Full-timeDescriptionTo provide guidance to crew members for the purpose of delivering a successful outcome for company/department projects. This position will champion structure, organization, and crew collaboration to achieve goals within given constraints.
Responsibilities:
Develop appropriate level project plans to meet assigned company objective within the defined scope, schedule, and budget of the project.
- Project plan meets the scope of the defined project, including dependencies.
- Project plan defines a schedule that meets the goal of the company.
- Project plan tracks cost of the project internally or in collaboration with the finance crew.
Provide opportunities for crew members to collaborate on specific practices that promote a simple, effective operation for our crew and our customers.
- Demonstrated examples of organizing collaboration to promote safety, simplicity, and ‘one crew’.
Administer forward thinking to anticipate potential challenges and implement mitigation strategies to eliminate or lessen an unfavorable outcome to the project.
- Project completion without unmitigated adverse outcomes.
- Project completion within scope, schedule, and budget.
Communicate each project’s progress and advise of potential risks and mitigation actions.
- Management is aware of project progress.
- Management does not receive any ‘surprises’ of unmitigated risk.
Create simple, effective project templates to be used for recurring projects (ex. Station openings). Provide on-site support for projects as required. Create checklists/project plans for crew members as requested.
- Project templates are effective and updated to complete projects within scope, schedule, and budget.
- Project leads within the PMO assist departments by providing simple, effective checklists for repetitive projects.
Decision-Making Ability
- Escalates project concerns as required.
- Determines when additional review is required for an outstanding item.
- Determines when additional discussion amongst crew members is required to ensure closure to an outstanding task.
Requirements
- 1-3 years of project coordination, lead, or management experience
- Experience in organizing and managing large amounts of data or projects.
- Conduct in-person, video, and audio meetings as necessary for project updates, problem solving, and reporting.
- Balancing and sequencing multiple objectives.
- Working under pressure while meeting deadlines.
- Up to 20% travel to project locations such as stations.
- Understanding of basic Project Management best practices.
- Functional knowledge or the ability to learn Microsoft Project and the ability to create and maintain simultaneous projects and reports.
- Scheduling skills to breakdown goals of a project into an effective timeline and maintain the integrity of the schedule.
- Task management skills that accommodate different crew member preferences.
- Basic understanding of airline operations and the dependencies of the workflow between crew members.
- Leadership skills to define the roadmap of the project, motivate and encourage.
- Motivational skills to ensure happy crew members during stressful times.
- Communication skills to promote collaboration and prevent or resolve issues.
- Ability to negotiate change requests to ensure success of the crew and the project.
- Critical thinking skills to recognize and evaluate a potential issue.
- Risk management and problem-solving skills to determine the best course of action when an issue arises.
- Organizational skills with attention to detail to create comprehensive projects in a simple, logical order.
- Flexibility for constant change as the company grows.
