Description:
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and experienced Senior IT Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in software, hardware, and network operations for IT, with specific expertise in technologies such as C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL using DB2, CICS, and MQ Series, LDAP, J2EE, and Database APIs. This role requires proficiency in working with Solaris, Linux, Mainframe, and Windows platforms.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide support for less technical IT disciplines, including computer operations, equipment installation and relocation, computer cabling, data entry and verification, media duplication, document control, and software installation.
- Troubleshoot and resolve hardware, software, and network issues promptly and efficiently.
- Assist in the setup, configuration, and maintenance of IT systems and infrastructure.
- Perform regular system updates and patches to ensure security and performance.
- Collaborate with team members to ensure seamless IT operations and support.
- Document and maintain accurate records of IT processes, procedures, and issues.
- Provide technical guidance and support to end-users and team members as needed.
- Participate in IT projects and initiatives, contributing technical expertise and support.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with the following technologies:
- Programming languages: C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL
- Databases: DB2
- Middleware: CICS, MQ Series
- Directory services: LDAP
- Frameworks: J2EE
- Database APIs
- Proficiency in Solaris, Linux, Mainframe, and Windows platforms.
- Strong understanding of IT operations, including computer operations, equipment installation, computer cabling, data entry, media duplication, document control, and software installation.
- Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to manage multiple tasks and prioritize effectively.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in IT technologies and platforms.
- Experience working in a dynamic and fast-paced IT environment.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices.
Education and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum Five (5) years of related experience.
Minimum Eligibility:
- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliant.
