Description:
We are seeking a highly knowledgeable and skilled Systems Software Engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have expertise in IT disciplines such as C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL using DB2, CICS, and MQ Series, LDAP, J2EE, and Database APIs. Recognized as a seasoned professional in the field, the candidate will have a strong reputation in the professional community through publications, conference speeches, research, and teaching. The individual must demonstrate exceptional oral and written communication skills and have the ability to create, update, and support information related to infrastructure systems support.
Key Responsibilities:
- Act as a consultant in highly specialized, leading-edge information technologies and methodologies.
- Provide highly technical and specialized guidance concerning automated solutions to complex information processing problems.
- Conduct elaborate analyses and studies to identify and resolve IT issues.
- Prepare detailed reports and deliver presentations on findings and recommendations.
- Work independently or as part of a team, demonstrating leadership and initiative.
- Serve as a contractor Project Manager when required, overseeing project execution and delivery.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure effective and efficient IT operations.
- Stay current with emerging technologies and industry trends, incorporating new knowledge into practice.
- Mentor and guide junior team members, sharing expertise and best practices.
Required Qualifications:
- Extensive experience with the following technologies:
- Programming languages: C/C++, Java, .NET, COBOL
- Databases: DB2
- Middleware: CICS, MQ Series
- Directory services: LDAP
- Frameworks: J2EE
- Database APIs
- Recognized professional in the IT community through publications, conference speeches, research, or teaching.
- Strong analytical skills with the ability to perform complex analyses and studies.
- Proficiency in preparing detailed reports and delivering compelling presentations.
- Exceptional oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision and as part of a team.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with experience in project management.
- Strong problem-solving skills and the ability to provide innovative solutions to IT challenges.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Relevant certifications in IT technologies and platforms.
- Experience in a project management role.
- Knowledge of IT security best practices.
- Experience in a fast-paced and dynamic IT environment.
Education and requirements:
- Bachelor's degree in Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field, or equivalent work experience.
- Minimum Five (5) years of related experience.
Minimum Eligibility:
- Candidates must meet requirements to obtain and maintain a Minimum Background Investigation (MBI) clearance (active Moderate Risk MBI clearance is a plus).
- Candidates must be a US Citizen or a Legal Permanent Resident (Green Card status) for at least three (3) years, and Federal Tax compliant.
