IT Infrastructure Manager / Senior Manager
Job Summary:
- The IT Infrastructure Manager will be responsible for managing the performance, hardware and software on physical and virtual servers hosting various applications, and for the day-to-day IT operations and infrastructure for a Manufacturing company with multiple plants and offices across the continental US. This individual will need to be very hands-on, particularly in the beginning, but able to provide tactical and strategic direction as needed. Hands-on technical responsibilities on both the Network and Server side (Wintel) and management and collaboration with a team of MSP partners and MSSP partners for Security operations. Primary office location in the Dallas DFW area. Occasional travel (about 10%) to locations in the Midwest.
Job Responsibilities:
- Serve as hands-on technical lead, particularly in Networking areas while also managing local staff and oversee global contractors/managed services IT staff as well as any 3rd party IT partners
- Should excel at partnering with multiple Managed Services Providers (MSPs) and possess solid strategic planning, architecture and design skills
- Work with Telecom Expense Management (TEM) provider to manage wirelines and wireless telecommunications
- Work with Managed XDR and Managed SIEM security providers to maintain a strong cyber security posture
- Develop and update security, operations, and infrastructure policies, as needed
- Responsible for overall infrastructure strategy, design, engineering, architecture, security and maintenance of a global infrastructure environment and for creating standard policies and procedures.
- Present recommendations clearly and understandably to senior management.
- Manage and lead the effort to support and advance the migration of all global systems and infrastructure to Cloud (especially O365 and Microsoft Azure) environment.
- Directing and institutionalizing the effort to maintain application and server performance through policy implementation, monitoring processes, optimization policies, virtualization, and working with MSP providers and both development and operations teams.
- Create multiple policies and procedures on areas of best practice around equipment use, application use, change management, and incident management, as well as ensuring compliance.
- Manage the performance, hardware and software on physical and virtual servers hosting various applications, and for the day to day operations and development of infrastructure for the company.
- Ensure quality network and server/storage deployments through scripted processes
- Define compliance policies for all hardware and operating systems in the data center environments.
- Responsible for laying down strategy for Cloud Backups, Business Continuity, Disaster Recovery.
- Plan and manage Infrastructure projects from conception to completion.
- Assist in defining and managing IT Infrastructure and Telecom budget
Job Requirements:
- 5+ years of overall hands-on technical management experience on the IT Operations, Networking, Systems/ Server and O365.
- The ideal candidate will have experience with the following areas:
- Storage, VMware, Network (CISCO), SD-WAN/SASE, Active Directory, Windows, Messaging, Exchange,
- Database (SQL Server), Cloud (O365, Azure)
- Microsoft O365 and Azure Cloud Administration
- Networking (CISCO); firewalls/VPN/Experience in working with ISP/WAN/SD-WAN
- Servers: Windows VMWare, Backup: Veeam
- Windows: Active Directory; Group Policy/GPO deployment; SQL Server; Patch Management
- Strong leadership experience, including personnel and budget management, policy definition and implementation, strategy, design & execution
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills to interact with a variety of technical and non-technical teams in an effective manner and partners
- Certifications desirable but not required: o Microsoft Certified System Engineer (MCSE) certifications in Windows 2008 or Windows 2012; and Cloud Platform & Infrastructure.
- Certifications like CompTIA Network+ and CompTIA Security+ o Cisco network and technologies, CCNA(P), CCIE.
- ITIL/PMP Certification; expertise designing and implementing Global Infrastructure Solutions and project management experience
- TOGAF Architecture Certification
