DSFederal seeks a part-time Human Resources Manager who will become an integral part of the leadership team and be responsible for the human resources function across the organization.
Job Duties/Responsibilities:
- Partner with leadership to develop HR strategies that support business goals and to coordinate organizational development initiatives
- Provide counsel on employee relations issues, policy interpretation, and performance improvement planning
- Implement strategies to promote employee engagement, retention, and professional development
- Manage the talent acquisition team and develop recruitment life cycle best practices
- Ensure company policies, procedures, and processes comply with federal, state and local laws as well as federal contracting requirements
- Coordinate annual performance management process
- Manage employee onboarding and offboarding
- Prepare executive summary reports on various HR metrics, including engagement, turnover, retention, time to fill, and HR initiatives
Requirements
- 8 years of HR experience, ideally in the government contracting arena
- Demonstrated leadership and management skills
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills for developing relationships and sharing information
- Experience with employee relations, counseling and coaching employees
- Expertise in labor law and compliance requirements
- Solid decision-making skills and judgment for resolving employee concerns, minimizing liability and handling sensitive information
- Attention to detail; ability to multi-task and prioritize initiatives
- Strong knowledge of ATS and HRIS systems, and Microsoft Office
Required Education
- Bachelor’s degree in human resources, business administration, or related field
Desired Experience/Certifications
- HR experience in government contracting
- SHRM certification a plus
