The Opportunity
Our client's remediation team is engaged in a significant effort to re-engineer and modernize core financial systems. A wide array of IT assets have been identified as performing financial planning, analysis, and management functions, all of which are impacted by the State of Florida's new accounting system. This multiyear endeavor aims to replace existing accounting and cash management systems with a modern financial management solution.As part of the transition, we are seeking a skilled Tibco Focus/WebFOCUS Application Specialist.
This role is vital for analyzing, documenting, and updating existing programs, reports, and interfaces developed over the past twenty years.This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a transformative project that will impact the financial infrastructure of the entire state. - Analyze and document current Focus programs and WebFocus reports.
- Collaborate with management to develop a remediation strategy for all Focus programs and reports.
- Enhance existing reports based on current business needs.
- Convert WebFocus and Mainframe Focus queries to T-SQL.
- Work with database administrators to create views and stored procedures.
- Update programs and reports to reflect new chart of account changes.
- Transition mainframe programs using flat files to database tables.
- Analyze financial data to improve the data model.
- Administer the WebFocus environment for the dedicated remediation project.
- Transfer knowledge to technical staff within the Comptroller's office.
Compensation and Term This opportunity is for a full-time, contract position with possible extensions and pay commensurate with experience up to $135,000 per year. Medical, dental, vision and life insurance available after 30 days of hire.Qualifications you
need
A successful Tibco Focus/WebFOCUS Application Specialist has the following experience:
- Bachelor’s Degree in Technology, Finance, or a related field. Equivalent work experience can substitute on a year-for-year basis.
- Minimum of 2 years’ experience in Tibco Mainframe Focus or WebFocus.
- Preferred experience with MS Power BI.
- Development experience with mainframe Focus and WebFocus.
- Familiarity with IBM mainframe and Job Control Language (JCL).
- Strong SQL skills and experience with IBM DB2.
- Proficiency in data governance best practices.
- Experience creating financial data reports.
- Analytical thinking for relevant data report creation.
- Implementation of solutions with multiple data sources.
- Knowledge of modern reporting tools such as MS Power BI, IBM Cognos, and Tableau.
- Understanding of the SCRUM Framework.
- Knowledge of financial systems like ERP.
- Familiarity with data management concepts such as Data Warehousing, Operational Data Stores, Data Lakes, and Master Data Management.
