We are seeking a highly skilled and capable Agile Scrum Product Owner to join our team and contribute to the success of the program. This program aims to provide a modern and secure platform for the rapid development and delivery of software applications across the Air Force. This is a full-time, exempt position which can be done remotely. As a Product Owner you will play a critical role in shaping and delivering cutting-edge software solutions for the Air Force and its partners.
You will be responsible for understanding user needs, defining product vision, and guiding the development process from ideation to deployment. Your deep understanding of agile methodologies, technology trends, software development, and user-centric design will be crucial in driving the success of the program.GXM provides a comprehensive benefits package. Responsibilities
- Collaborate with stakeholders to understand the USAF's needs and define the product vision and strategy for the Platform One program
- Work with development teams to convey stakeholder requirements
- Define and prioritize product features and enhancements based on user feedback and organizational goals
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including engineers, designers, and analysts, to ensure successful product development and delivery
- Drive agile practices, including defining user stories, creating and maintaining product backlogs, and prioritizing features for development sprints
- Conduct regular sprint reviews to demonstrate completed code and hold retrospectives to gather feedback and continuously improve the development process focusing on eliminating risk
- Define and track key metrics to measure user satisfaction and guide improvements working with senior leadership to identify trends/opportunities
- Build strong relationships with key stakeholders, including USAF personnel, senior leaders, and external partners
- Effectively communicate product updates, project status, and technical information to both technical and non-technical stakeholders
- Serve as a voice of the customer among the cross-functional team, always understanding the customer needs
Requirements
- U.S. citizenship required
- 5+ years of proven experience as a Product Owner in a DevOps environment or similar role, preferably in the software or technology industry
- An understanding of the following development languages: Python, JavaScript
- An understanding of DevSecOps principals such as CI/CD, Containerization, and Cloud Security
- An understanding of Kubernetes, Docker, GitLab CI/CD Pipelines, and related technologies
- Strong understanding of Agile methodologies and experience working in Agile teams
- Familiarity with modern software development practices and technologies
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to make data driven decisions
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with cross functional teams and stakeholders
- Must be able to travel up to 10% of the time
Desired
- Active SECRET clearance
- Scrum Product Owner Certification
- Project Management Professional (PMP) Certification
- Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or Business
- IAT Level II or equivalent (CySA+, Sec+, etc.)
- Experience in the defense or aerospace industry, particularly the USAF/USSF
- Software development with Django, Flask, React, AngularJS a plus
