QUALITY CONTROL (QC)/ PROOFREADER/ COPYEDITOR
DESCRIPTION OF ROLE:
Red Carrot is seeking an organized and detail-oriented Quality Control (QC)/ Proofreader/ Copyeditor to join our team supporting our government customer. This position will review all products for content accuracy against information provided, prior to returning finished product to customer.This position requires product delivery to be performed on-site, 5 days a week, in the Research Triangle Park, North Carolina.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Copyedit products supplied by client, questioning all potential misspellings or obvious grammatical errors or inconsistencies, to ensure that the finished product is correct and as desired.
- Provide suggestions on text edits to improve readability or organization of information, but not make changes without customer review and approval.
- Maintain version control, correct errors that are found by the Contractor, product shall be returned, and corrections shall made within the specified timeframe.
- Ensure that all products produced by the contractor comply with the NIH/NIEHS logo policies and guidelines.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Must Haves:
- Must have a minimum of a B.A./B.S. in a related discipline (e.g., English, journalism, or other discipline).
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in quality control, including copy editing and proofreading; or a combination of 5 years of experience and training that provides the required knowledge, skills, and abilities to perform these tasks.
- Must be proficient in Associated Press (AP) style.
