Division Overview


Indera Mills was incorporated in Winston Salem, North Carolina in 1914 by Francis Henry Fries. From the beginning, Indera has been a vertically integrated apparel manufacturer. The Indera Mills mission is to be the premier thermal underwear supplier in the U.S. by offering the best product value: style and quality at a very competitive price.As one of the three largest suppliers of thermal underwear products in the world, we count 5,000 retail customers in the U.S. We are unique in that we only produce and distribute thermal underwear.

As such, the company is completely focused year-round on fulfilling the needs of our customers.

Job Purpose


Under the direction of the warehouse management team, the DC Driver/Operator is responsible for transporting inventory from one warehouse to another. The DC Driver/Operator works actively with the DC management team and Coordinators/Leads to ensure trailers are properly allocated to dock doors. All while using company standards and policies for safety. Supports the DC operation by also assisting other departments by unloading, picking, loading, etc.

Duties


  • Transport trailer of goods between warehouses.
  • Secure cargo for transport
  • Communicate safety hazards related to equipment, building structure, racks, etc.
  • Verifies equipment is in good state prior to use
  • Coordinates with DC staff the movement of containers from yard to dock door
  • Ensures that equipment is well kept, organized, and clean
  • Promotes teamwork environment, and communicates effectively with DC management and associates
  • Maintains log and proper documentation of daily trips, deliveries, pickups, etc.
  • Performs other DC duties and functions such as unloading, assembly, picking, etc.
  • Ensures that all safety practices are complied with

Skills/Qualifications


  • Min. 3 years driving experience.
  • Must have valid CDL Class A License, and acceptable DMV record.
  • Port identification cards, preferred.
  • Knowledge of commercial driver regulations (DOT) and safety.
  • Knowledge of road and port regulations.
  • Ability to pass DOT physical, driver evaluation, drug screen, work history verification, driving record review and criminal background check.
  • Understanding of mechanicals of truck
