Job Objective:
Assists OE with managing the daily operations of contract or company crews performing well work activities for operations to include slickline, e-line, coil tubing, workover, or other non-drilling well activities. Works with maintenance foreman to coordinate maintenance of company owned work over rigs and equipment. Supervises company and contract well work staff.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Works with OM and OE to manage well work crews and service company personnel to efficiently execute work over and well maintenance operations supporting multiple fields. Prioritize activities, people, and assets.
- Supervises field company and contract employees.
- Utilize industry best practices to ensure quality and integrity of well work activities.
- Utilize leadership and operational skills to improve operational performance.
- Be a safety leader and instill integrity in both company and contract operations.
- Develop new (as necessary) and manage existing programs to ensure safe, regulatory compliant, and effective operations.
- Perform audits of existing procedures, standards, and programs to encourage an innovative culture.
- Provides leadership and direction in the development of short and long-range well operation plans.
- Works with MEM group to Monitor and maintains spare parts inventory for Hilcorp owned well work assets.
- Mange service provider contracts and hold rig crews accountable to a high level of performance.
- Plans and organizes workloads and staff assignments; trains, motivates, and evaluates assigned staff; and reviews progress and directs changes as needed.
- Interface with agents of regulating agencies and other visitors to location in a professional manner.
- Interact with Operations Engineers on planned well activities and wellbore design.
- Mentor and develop well site consultants and operations engineers to improve safety and operational performance.
- Processes field invoices.
- Work closely with operations engineers to improve written well programs and schematics
- Works with OE and field operation to assist with well optimization / artificial lift troubleshooting
- ESP management to include design, installation, operation, maintenance, troubleshooting, & failure analysis.
- Incorporate “Lessons Learned” into well activities.
- Provide on site leadership for critical or abnormal operations.
- Report all accidents, incidents and spills in an accurate and timely manner.
- Work with other Hilcorp employees and Teams in a professional and collaborative manner.

- Adheres to established work schedule, attendance standards and is punctual to work and meetings
Other Job Responsibilities:
- Supervises personnel and conducts employee performance evaluations.
- Ability to be available 24 hours per day (on call for questions, emergencies, etc.).
- Maintains employee confidence and protects company assets, including intellectual property, by keeping information confidential.
- Contributes to team effort by accomplishing related results, as needed.
- Other duties as assigned by management.
- Preferred: ability to fill in for OE and/or FE as needed for PTO coverage.
Qualifications:
- Ten (10) years minimum experience in the operation of well site activities (work over, wireline, e-line, coil tubing operations).
- Ability to plan and direct execution of daily well work operations.
- Ability to work established work schedule.
- Self-starter with proven leadership skills, team player, comfortable working under pressure and dedicated to developing workforce.
- Ability to accurately solve problems.
- Ability to work long hours in order to cover/monitor assigned field territory.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with employees, supervisors, other departments, officials, and the public.
- Ability to complete multiple, diverse tasks of differing priorities.
- Good written and verbal communication skills, with specific ability to translate complex information into an organized and presentable manner.
- Good management, administrative, and organizational skills.
- Ability to travel to remote locations via large and small planes, helicopter or boat, and ability to don and doff immersion suit.
- Ability to work in Arctic conditions.
- Ability to work a 14/14 12hr work shift
- Proficiency in the use and application of the following computer software:
- Preferred: Microsoft Office (Word and Outlook)
Education Requirements:
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent.
- College Degree preferred
Certifications, Licenses, Registrations:
- IADC Well Control Certification
