Job Objective:
Operates and maintains rubber tire extension boom crane, graders, loaders, bulldozers, excavators, dump trucks, vacuum trucks, man baskets and miscellaneous trailer mounted equipment. Performs mechanic functions and general operations duties as directed by the supervisor. Coordinates facility logistics and helps maintain a safe work environment for the company.
Essential Job Responsibilities:
- Complies with all requirements of API 2D, 6th Edition for a qualified crane operator.
- Manages incoming and outgoing cargo operations frequently dealing with hazardous materials and hazardous waste.
- Capable of working at heights to perform daily inspections and maintenance of cranes and crane components.
- Capable of handling basic repairs to crane and assisting mechanics in servicing and making repairs.
- Completes required daily and weekly pre-use inspections.
- Confirms that PM work is completed in a timely manner and follow up repairs are completed.
- Notifies Supervisor when crane related inspections and maintenance are required, to include rigging gear.
- Performs daily pre use and annual inspection and maintenance of rigging gear including maintaining an inventory list of rigging.
- Displays understanding of types of rigging gear & lifting techniques for different load types.
- Capable of developing lifting and rigging plans for basic and complex lifts.
- Ability to teach and mentor personnel as riggers. (Safe procedures, types of lifting gear, hand signals, etc.) Assist in crane operator trainee development.
- Responsible for working condition of radios for communication with deck personnel and boats.
- Capable and willing to assist operations personnel in daily operations as directed by the on board supervisor.
- Inspects equipment for safety problems, leaks, or wear and tear and makes or recommends appropriate repairs.
- Procures necessary materials and supplies to complete daily tasks
- Implements company’s “Spill Prevention, Control, and Countermeasures Plan” (SPCC), as needed.
- Implements and adheres to all company safety policies and procedures and adheres to company’s “Good House-Keeping Rules.”
- Reports leaks or defective valves to maintenance.
Essential Job Responsibilities Continued:
- Shuts down the machines, following supervisor’s instructions, in case of an emergency.
- May be required to work multiple fields.
- Performs assigned duties as they relate to their position on facilities emergency response team.

Qualifications:
- To improve intra-departmental productivity, employee is expected to develop basic proficiency in and knowledge of the following positions: Field Operators, Utilities and Mechanics
- Five (5) years minimum experience operating rubber tire/all terrain cranes.
- Experience with loading and unloading landing craft/barges.
- Knowledge and experience with Cook Inlet tidal and ice conditions.
- Ability to work established work schedule.
- Requires less supervision in the performance of routine duties.
- Demonstrates increasing degrees of understanding how the various parts of the oil/gas facility/plant work together (from the wells through the production facilities to the oil and gas sales lines).
- Demonstrates an increased ability to work unsupervised, act upon an acquired knowledge of how the facilities function, anticipates and corrects problems before they occur or before other parts of the facility are affected.
- Demonstrates the ability to help operate the facility while maintaining the facility in a safe environmentally sound condition and maintaining neat and accurate records of the operations.
- Demonstrates the ability to direct the work of and train other employees of lower rank and/or experience.
- Demonstrates the ability and willingness to remain aware of and direct the whole scope of simultaneous activities at the job site on a routine basis.

Education Requirements:
- Graduation from a high school or GED equivalent or any equivalent combination of education and experience demonstrating sufficient knowledge, ability and skill to handle the duties and responsibilities of the position.
