Payor Analytics Sr. Financial Analyst
Job Description:
Position Summary:
The Payor Analytics Sr. Financial Analyst will provide an array of financial, data aggregation, and analytical support to drive insights from a health plan strategy lens. The Analyst will support profitable growth for agilon and our partners through analyzing value-based care contracts with payors and delivering executive level reporting across the Enterprise. The successful candidate is an independent, analytical, and intellectually curious individual who can take ownership of projects, source information, develop clear understanding of data details/nuances, work collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders, structure analyses and strategies and articulate findings to wide range of business stakeholders, including senior leadership throughout the organization.
Essential Job Functions:
- Perform financial analysis on value-based care opportunities with payor partners; inputs critical to determining viability of the deal and profitable deal terms.
- Build/refresh detailed, complex financial models to support financial negotiations and work with other departments to obtain data inputs.
- Excellent quantitative and analytical skills. Capable of breaking down highly complex problems and large amounts of data and synthesizing them into a coherent strategy and financial models.
- Maintain numerous models simultaneously; ability to track numerous ongoing deals at once
- Develop and update a variety of management reports and presentations
- Manage the process of developing an extensive quarterly management report of health plan analytics – keep report development on schedule, coordinate communications and receipt of data with data owners, update all analyses in the report, work with Sr. Manager to QC and complete an accurate report.
- Manage the process of meeting with market leadership and other stakeholders to present the results of our reporting and coordinate resulting action items.
- Analyze results and deliver insightful, data-driven recommendations to management.
- Power user of Excel; capable of building robust and detailed financial models and fluency in PowerPoint to translate results.
- Extreme attention to detail and accuracy in work product, while keeping numerous data sets, inputs, and assumptions consistent and in order.
- Adaptability to work in a fast-paced, ever-changing environment and ability to meet critical deadlines.
- Strong communication skills. Ability to speak to a wide range of constituents verbally, in writing, and/or in presentation formats while maintaining professionalism.
- Familiarity with accounting and financial planning practices and requirements a plus.
- Ownership of processes and projects. Responsibilities include (but not limited) to planning, coordinating with SMEs, monitoring progress, tracking, documenting, communicating with necessary entities and ensuring completion of project for the desired deadline.
Other Job Functions:
- Support executive level reporting across the Enterprise to ensure all leaders benefit from the insights developed by the health plan contracting team in analyzing health plan market positions, benefit levels, growth trajectories, and other factors.

Required Qualifications:
Minimum Experience
- 2-4 years related analytical work experience, preferably in a health care / managed care setting and/or physician group industry experience.
- Background in either financial analysis, management consulting, strategy, or planning & analysis role.
Education/Licensure
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, Mathematics, or a related field required, MBA a plus.

Language Skills: Strong communication skills both written and verbal to work with multiple internal and external clients in a fast-paced environment Mathematical Skills: Ability to work with mathematical concepts such as probability and statistical inference. Ability to apply concepts such as fractions, percentages, ratios, and proportions to practical situations. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply principles of logical or scientific thinking to a wide range of intellectual and practical problems. Computer Skills: Ability to create and maintain documents using Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint)

Pay Range:
$87,000.00 - $106,600.00
Salary range shown is a guideline. Individual compensation packages can vary based on factors unique to each candidate, such as skill set, experience, and qualifications.
