Louis, Missouri. This position is primarily responsible for supervising a group of pharmacy personnel who, under the direction of a physician, compound and dispense prescribed drugs within the pharmacy.

Summary


The Pharmacy Manager, Pharmacist-in-charge is primarily responsible for oversight of the pharmacy's daily operations.  This role will be responsible for daily prescription fulfillment, controlling inventory, and oversight of pharmacy personnel.  The Pharmacy Manager, PIC will assist the Senior Director of Pharmacy Operations in directing and managing all activities within the pharmacy department, including managing new programs.  This individual will maintain standards and translate policies and procedures into the daily operation of the pharmacy.  Based on location, the Pharmacy Manager, PIC may be requested to obtain additional licenses.

Responsibilities


  • Practice within the scope of license and maintain an active unrestricted license.
  • Responsible for daily completion of all activities related to dispensing prescriptions in accordance with the organization's policies and all applicable laws by following standard operating procedures for ordering, receiving, filling, dispensing, logging and maintain loss prevention controls.
  • Oversee daily pharmacy operations.
  • Develop and maintain efficient workflows.
  • Identify training gaps and implement mitigation strategies to improve pharmacy operations.
  • Prepare schedules, coordinate staff assignments, and approve PTO requests in accordance with forecasted business demand.
  • Work with staff to improve performance, guiding and coaching staff in solving problems which arise day-to-day.
  • Monitor performance of daily responsibilities for all personnel, coaching, and disciplining staff, as necessary.
  • Implement and operationalize new programs.
  • Identify and address patient order concerns proactively and timely and complete appropriate follow-up as needed.
  • Provide frequent and transparent communication to employees through verbal and written communications.
  • Proficient in supporting all aspects of daily prescription processing duties of the pharmacist including the proper handling, usage, storage, and shipping of drugs in the pharmacy.
  • Perform Quality Assurance audits and assist in implementing any correct actions based on the audits.

Qualifications


  • Requires a bachelor's degree and/or an advanced degree in pharmacy with at least two (2) years of experience in the field. 

  • Must be registered as a Licensed Pharmacist in the state of Missouri.
  • Minimum of two (2) years pharmacist experience required.
  • At least one (1) year of supervisory or management experience preferred.
  • At least one (1) year experience in a mail order or retail pharmacy environment preferred.
  • 340B knowledge is a plus
