POSITION SUMMARY:
Responsible for general production activities throughout different seasons including field operations, conditioning/treating seed, packaging seed, equipment maintenance, shipping/warehousing.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
- Involved in conditioning/packaging of seed, including shift supervision
- Warehousing and load building, including load checking for accuracy
- Operate the seed treater as a certified pesticide applicator
- Operate bagging equipment
- Accurately complete all paperwork in a timely manner
- Coordinate raw bushel receiving
- Independent bulk seed movement
- Prepare, wash and repair seed boxes for packaging
- Verify bagged inventory prior to warehouse placement
- Crop scouting and field and bin inspections
- Actively engage and promote a culture of safety and follow safety procedures
- Assist with housekeeping and preventative maintenance of our equipment
- Assist training of seasonal workers and full-time employees.
- Complete all paperwork/reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Coordinate job responsibilities of temporary employees
- Responsible for projecting a positive image of AgReliant Genetics and act in accordance with the Company’s Core Values
- Other duties as assigned
EDUCATION/EXPERIENCE:
- High School diploma or equivalent preferred
- Work experience in seed/agriculture industry preferred
KNOWLEDGE/SKILLS/ABILITIES:
- Strong verbal and written communication skills
- Ability to work effectively as part of a team as well as individually
- Strong attention to detail
- Proficient in the use of Microsoft Office (Word, Excel) and common PC-based software
- Ability to obtain a Certified Pesticide Applicator License and Commercial Driver’s License as needed.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS:
- Ability to lift up to 65 pounds
- Ability to work assigned hours and shifts including overtime
- Ability to work indoors and outdoors in hot, cold, wet, and dry conditions
- Ability to walk seed fields, up to 5 miles/day
- Must have a valid driver’s license and meet MVR guidelines
