Position Summary
This job is ideal for those who want to combine their excitement for sporting and live events with broadcast and network A/V engineering. You will be working in a fast-paced, dynamic environment with a group of close-knit, passionate, and talented teammates that serve a wide range of customers including internal associates, major and private events, and fans. If you enjoy collaborating closely with others to serve the business and address opportunities, this role is for you.The ideal candidate will be a self-starter with a deep understanding of broadcast engineering, including IP workflows and SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
This role requires the ability to stay calm and collected in a fast-paced, high-pressure environment.The position will primarily be based in Atlanta, GA at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium but will also work from other locations around metro Atlanta as needed. Must be able to carry a cell phone and respond quickly to occasional requests for critical assistance. Working events at the Mercedes-Benz Stadium will be required, which includes a variety of weekends, holidays and days/nights. Some occasional travel may be required.
Roles and Responsibilities
- Maintain and support all broadcast and network A/V equipment and systems at Mercedes-Benz Stadium from manufactures including Ross, Evertz and Riedel.
- Work with outside vendors in periodic repair, maintenance, and operation of broadcast and A/V equipment and systems.
- Oversee and schedule event-day staff and contractors.
- Manage and troubleshoot IP-based workflows and ensure compliance with SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
- Aid Chief Broadcast & A/V Engineer in supporting, installing and maintaining A/V and broadcast systems.
- Identify and resolve technical issues promptly to minimize interruption and downtime.
- Collaborate with production teams to design and implement broadcast solutions for events.
- Document and maintain inventory of broadcast and A/V equipment – log technical issues and resolutions.
- Consults with clients, vendors, or other individuals to discuss and formulate estimates.
- Stay current with industry trends and emerging technologies to aid and continuously improve broadcast and A/V operations.
- Other duties as assigned.
Qualifications and Education Requirements
- Proven experience as a Broadcast Engineer or similar role.
- In-depth knowledge of broadcast systems.
- Strong understanding of IP workflows and SMPTE ST 2110 standards.
- Minimum of 5 years’ experience in the sports/broadcast entertainment field.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in area.
