About the Role: The Supervisor, Facilities and Equipment Maintenance Technician oversees and/or performs the day-to-day activities involving the maintenance of the Lyons distribution center equipment and machinery, including, but not limited to, HVAC, electrical systems, conveyors, forklifts, security and overall facility appearance.


Essential Job Functions


• Assist the Manager in overseeing the facility maintenance and housekeeping functions, development/ streamlining of department processes and prioritization of daily workload in order to effectively maintain the facility premises, equipment and associated systems.• Lead assigned staff including training, preparing work schedules, assigning work and overseeing the work product while minimizing overtime hours.• Maintain function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by implementing a preventive maintenance program; operating and testing systems and equipment; restoring, repairing, rebuilding, or replacing faulty or inoperative components and parts.• Ensure maintenance shop is well organized and stocked with parts frequently needed• Improve function and reliability of facility systems and associated equipment by identifying, recommending, and implementing changes, expansions, and additions.• Participate in construction projects (e.g.

renovations, additional shelving, shipping crates), complying with legal codes and regulations.• Maintain a safe and healthy work environment by following standards and procedures, complying with legal codes and regulations.• Perform required inspections on building sprinkler systems.• Document all inspections, maintenance and repair work.• Oversee the facility housekeeping functions, including but not limited to:

  • Maintenance of all break areas and restrooms keeping them clean and stocked with supplies
  • Ensuing office and work areas are free of boxes or other debris
  • Maintaining the schedule set for sweeping, mopping and cleaning the office areas and warehouse

Education and Certifications, Experience and Skills, and Competencies


• Education and Certifications • High school diploma or GED required, with vocational or technical training in construction, skilled trade or a related field• Experience and Skills • Generally, 4+ years' experience with mechanical and electrical systems, HVAC, and hydraulic/pneumatic system, UPS and boilers, conveyors, high speed sortation and various packing equipment in a fast-paced production environment.• Previous experience with electrical controllers and welding preferred.• Competencies

  • Ability to effectively accomplish diverse skilled work in the repair and maintenance of equipment and facilities
  • Effective in prioritizing duties and evaluating the work of other personnel.
  • Ability to interpret, illustrate, and apply regulation codes and rules.
  • Ability to carry out operations safely and efficiently; utilize diverse assigned equipment and tools Good oral and written communication skills
