Summary


The Facilities Technician performs cleaning functions throughout the office and shop floor as defined below. The individual for this position, under the direction of Building Facilities, will work towards attaining maintenance goals and company objectives.

$1500 sign on bonus. Competitive wages and benefits start on Day 1!  


Primary Responsibilities


  • Janitorial work, cleaning, and garbage removal
  • Sweep and mop floors
  • Wipe down and clean tables and chairs in defined cafeteria areas
  • Clean microwaves and refrigerators
  • Clean all restrooms
  • Replace towels and toilet paper
  • Run floor sweeper throughout the shop
  • Maintains building, performing minor and routine painting, plumbing, and other related maintenance activities and improvements
  • Maintain safe sidewalks and building access during winter
  • Promote efficiency and cost reduction
  • Maintain compliance with local, state and federal laws
  • Ensure property is clean and safe inside and outside of the building
  • Perform assembly and disassembly of various items such as tables, chairs, desks, security cages, racking, etc.

Qualifications


  • High School Degree or GED equivalent
  • Must be a U.S. Citizen or Permanent legal resident, due to contractual requirements.

Preferred Qualifications


  • Janitorial, minor repair and preventive maintenance duties of facility and equipment in a manufacturing environment
  • Experience with floor care including auto scrubbers, swing scrubbers, mops, shop vacs, etc.
  • Manufacturing environment experience
  • Effective verbal and written communication and listening skills
  • Good customer service skills
  • Must be flexible to adapt to changing and varying work requirements; good multi-tasker
  • Ability to perform well under pressure
  • Self-motivated and able to work alone with minimal supervision
  • Ability to organize and prioritize
  • Ability to use chemicals safely
  • Mechanically inclined (able to perform facility and equipment repairs)
  • Ability to use hand tools/power tools
  • Ability to climb ladders, be in small spaces, and work on your hand and knees when necessary
  • Detail oriented
  • Manual skills related to facilities maintenance
  • Knowledge about basic repair work
  • Ability to drive forklift
  • Ability to understand and display proper use of cleaning chemicals
  • Ability to manage time and work in fast pace environment

  • Time management skills: ability to adjust to varying timelines as well as maintain routine schedules.
  • Safety and Security - Observes safety and security procedures; reports potentially unsafe conditions; uses equipment and materials properly

Ability to read and interpret documents such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, and procedure manuals.  Ability to write routine reports and correspondence. 

Reasoning Ability


Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out detailed written and or, oral instructions.
