Role Overview
We're seeking a passionate Licensed Mental Health Professional to join our founding team. This role is pivotal in shaping the mentorship experience, creating impactful methodologies for how to actually help teens feel better, and being directly hands-on in supporting teens. You'll work closely with our CEO, design, product, growth, and engineering teams to deliver an unparalleled experience on our digital platform.
Responsibilities
Design and implement innovative mentorship methodologies focusing on relatable teen content and activity-based frameworks to support teens with anxiety, depression, and other challenges.
In the near term, spend approximately 40% of your time working directly with teens as a mentor, with the remaining 60% dedicated to product development and oversight. During time working with teens, you will actively iterate and experiment with how mentors can effectively support teens across our platform.
Lead the hiring, training, and supervision of peer specialist mentors, ensuring they're equipped to make a significant impact.
Handle crisis escalation situations and ensure that mentors are able to support teens in getting into the right care.
Directly influence the strategic direction of the company, making key decisions that shape our growth and long-term impact.
Who you are
You have a current license as a mental health professional in a U.S. state.
You have a strong desire to work with adolescents and teens.
2+ years of experience working with adolescents.
You have an ability and desire to connect with teens on a deeply personal level. We want you to care deeply about our teens!
You are willing and able to help teens in a potential crisis situation, and have had experience in deescalation or crisis services. You never know what can come up and we want you to be prepared!
You have exceptional written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to work independently and cross-functionally. We actually want to know what you think!
You have an insatiable desire to learn, iterate, and test new methodologies in mental health support. We want you to become the world's expert in teen mental health!
You are comfortable being on camera and communicating your ideas in video format. We record a lot of videos for teens!
You want to go big and have large ambitions for yourself and your impact. We want you to want to change the world like we do!
You are constantly trying to grow and learn and become the best that you can be.
Work Environment
This is a full-time position.
Hybrid in-person at our NYC office in Manhattan (4 Days in office 1 day WFH).
We have an output driven culture and provide lots of flexibility throughout the week as needed.
