The LatAm Staff Accountant will help with the day-to-day accounting activities related to this region’s customer base and especially with respect to business being done from our Mexican subsidiary. This will include billing, collecting, making payments, tracking sales and expenses, logging sales and purchasing in the corporate systems, and reporting results to management.
This is a PART TIME ROLE planned for Tuesday's and Thursdays 9-5 pm
Essential Functions & Responsibilities
- Perform billing and collections for LatAm region’s customer base (monthly services as well as hardware sales). This will involve both automated processes as well as manual ones, depending on the customer and its complexity.
- Manage payables to suppliers in the region
- Use company accounting and ERP systems to log sales, purchases, inventory movements
- Ensure appropriate internal controls are in place and operating effectively to minimize substantive errors and improve efficiency
- Perform month end and quarter end reconciliation activities as assigned
- Generate and maintain detailed documentation of policies and processes and assist with process improvement/automation initiatives as they arise
- Research and identify international reporting requirements
- Provide analytical support and assistance with respect to all areas of business in Mexico and Latin America
- Assist with the setup and maintenance of new international business processes, including operational setup and chart of account mapping
- Interact with our external CPA firm in Mexico
Requirements
- The ideal candidate will have an understanding of Generally Accepted Accounting Principles, and will be responsible for the day to day accounting of our Mexican entity
- 1-2+ years of experience in accounting
- Bilingual (Spanish and English)
- Project management skills, analytical thinker, and attention to detail
- Experience with Microsoft Excel
- Strong interpersonal, verbal, and written communication skills
- Highly organized and customer-focused
- Bachelor’s degree in finance, accounting, or related field would be preferred
