Facility / Warehouse Manager – In Person – Pittsburgh, PA
Job Summary
Premier Safety is seeking a Facility Manager/Warehouse Supervisor to oversee and coordinate activities of workers engaged in receivables, storage, service repair, rentals, and distribution of materials, equipment, and products within our Pittsburgh, PA, branch. This role is vital in ensuring accurate on-time shipping, managing warehouse activities, and maintaining facility operations. Premier Safety is an industry leader in the sales, leasing, and service of head-to-toe personal protection equipment (PPE), technical safety products, and facility management solutions that cover all safety and workplace needs.
Responsibilities
- Develop and implement processes and procedures to ensure accurate on-time shipping and establish identical processes across all Premier Safety locations.
- Create and manage consistent branch flow strategies with each location to ensure accurate and on-time deliveries.
- Oversee and ensure proper procedures and protocols are followed throughout the location to maintain operational efficiency.
- Manage daily activities in the warehouse to meet and exceed company objectives.
- Read production schedules, customer orders, work orders, rental orders, shipping orders, or requisitions to determine items to be moved, gathered, or distributed.
- Train and supervise staff on hazardous transportation protocols to ensure safety and compliance.
- Maintain inventory records, adjust inventory as needed, and control inventory of packing supplies for the location.
- Check and verify all sales and rental orders for outbound shipping to ensure accuracy.Oversee building and facility issues, including repairs and maintenance, to ensure a safe and efficient work environment.
- Sort and place materials or items on racks, shelves, or in bins according to predetermined sequences such as size, type, style, color, or product barcode.
- Use computer systems to enter and manage records into CRM and ERP systems for accurate tracking and reporting.
- Prepare parcels for mailing and shipping, ensuring proper documentation and packaging.Oversee year-end inventory processes for the corporate location to ensure accurate and efficient inventory management.
- Interview, train, plan, assign, and direct work; appraise performance; reward and discipline employees; address complaints and resolve problems; and coordinate issues between all departments within the company.
- Establish and maintain a reliable network of outside vendors and suppliers to ensure cost-effective and timely support of the maintenance function, including hiring contractors for specialized work.
Requirements
- Strong background in warehouse and facility management.
- Minimum six years of related experience.
- Ability to lead and manage subordinates.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office.
- Preferred skills/knowledge should include ERP and CRM systems.
- A valid driver's license is required.
- Strong verbal communication skills for effective interaction with team members and supervisors; ability to hear and respond to verbal instructions and safety warnings.
- Ability to lift and move objects up to 50 pounds frequently and up to 100 pounds occasionally; capability to perform tasks that involve climbing, balancing, stooping, kneeling, crouching, or crawling.
- Ability to work safely in environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts, wet or humid conditions, high places, and airborne particles, while adhering to safety protocols.
- Ability to use hands for handling, feeling, and reaching objects, with the capacity for frequent standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
