About the Role
Saturn relies on robust internal infrastructure and tools to facilitate our support of thousands of individual communities. In order to create a magical experience for our users, operational work is required to source and maintain school specific data to power each user's experience - when they join the Saturn platform, we know exactly how their schedule operates. This requires sourcing and maintaining various sets of data, spanning from bell schedules to sports and extracurriculars, all with the goal of providing for the smoothest and most delightful possible product experience.We are looking for a leader to drive success across all operations functions at Saturn.
As an early stage company, we have built Saturn with a lean and flat culture. As we scale, we are looking to continue maintaining collaboration across teams and an innovation- and product-focused mentality. We’re looking for a hyper-scrappy person to help us build solutions to scale Saturn to the next level.
Your Responsibilities Will Include:
- Design systems and processes across Data Operations, including sourcing, structuring and maintaining data that powers the Saturn platform
- Work cross-functionally across Product, Engineering, and Design to support new and existing feature development. Partner closely with Product and Engineering on Operations Readiness programs for all internal tools and product launches
- Lead Saturn’s Support function, including in-house and external support teams responsible for both technical and general support. Manage external support agents, including managing agent schedules according to customer demand and service level agreements, training agents, quality assurance of agent output. Help determine optimal mix/ratio of Full Time Employees, Contractors, and Managed Service Partners
- Act as an advocate for our customers. Translate customer needs to the broader business, communicating progress, challenges, and opportunities
Oversee Trust & Safety functions, including design protocols and processes around content moderation and user safety.
Manage an operating budget for vendor costs and strategic investments in operational enhancements
To Succeed You'll Need:
- 5-8+ years of experience in Operations or in another role requiring real-time problem solving, ideally at a consumer tech company
- Deep experience working with engineers and product / project management
- Experience managing processes and training others on those tasks
- Data-driven, highly analytical (ability to understand highly complex data sets; ability to measure efficacy of programs and people)
- Ability to flex between analytical, strategic and operational aspects of the job. Track record of working alongside Engineering and Product teams to launch data-dependent products and features
- Experience working with external and outsourced teams; ability to design onboarding and reporting structures for third party providers.
- Willingness to manage, and also to work independently and autonomously depending on needs of the business
- Knowledge of scripting languages, SQL, Python, and other tooling platforms is a plus
This position has an estimated annual salary range of $130,000 to $160,000, not including bonus, commission and equity. This position also comes with full benefits and stock options. Actual compensation packages are based on a wide array of factors unique to reach candidates, including but not limited to demonstrated skill set, years and depth of relevant experience, and some role-dependent factors.
