iOS Engineer
Backbone is looking for a talented iOS engineer. The iOS engineer role is responsible for helping build the Backbone App, representing the next evolution in mobile gaming. You will work with other mobile team members, Data Science, Product, Design, Core Gaming, Devices, and many others to turn ideas into reality. As you help bring more people into gaming, there will be work with major gaming platforms and other partners to help integrate their content into the application.The iOS team utilizes modern technologies to help drive the technical roadmap and ensure Backbone has an awesome codebase that’s extendible and enjoyable to work with.
Please note that this role requires partial in-person attendance at our Redwood City, CA or Seattle office location (1x per week).
Responsibilities
Work with product, design, and fellow engineers to bring product ideas to life
Develop, test, and ship core product features in our iOS app
Build elegant and maintainable code to enable us to move fast and deliver quality
Debug and address issues with the existing codebase
Handle performance testing, participate in code reviews, and write unit tests
Assist with app health monitoring and response (passively during on-call hours)
Qualifications
Strong computer science and software engineering fundamentals
Fundamental knowledge of iOS development frameworks and app fundamentals using Swift
Understanding of modern application architecture paradigms and associated strengths and weaknesses
Excellent attention to detail and an eye for visuals. Design skills are not required, but you should be able to critique and modify existing designs
Experience with application to backend interactions through REST API or similar.
1-2 years of experience working on a production iOS app.
Bonus points
Contributed to consumer facing iOS applications of very high quality and polish is a plus!
You have worked on a software team previously
Understanding or experience with reactive programming for iOS (Rx/Async Await/Combine)
Understanding or experience with GraphQL
Degree in Computer Science or a related field preferred
Compensation:USD 150000-180000
