Rental Bench Technician – In Person – Sterling Heights, MI
Job Summary
Premier Safety is seeking a Warehouse Technician to coordinate the shipping, receivables, storage, and distribution of materials, equipment, and products within our Sterling Heights, MI, branch. This role is essential in ensuring efficient warehouse organization, maintaining high-quality control, and overseeing the repair and maintenance of instruments. Premier Safety is an industry leader in the sales, leasing, and service of head-to-toe personal protection equipment (PPE), technical safety products, and facility management solutions.
Responsibilities
- Review and maintain scheduled rental and service customer shipping and receiving, ensuring OTIF and customer care.
- Oversee warehouse organization, ensuring items are in correct locations and stock count is accurate.
- Manage the flow of all company assets, ensuring proper protocol and paperwork are completed.
- Work within goal-driven deadlines to pull and ship all orders and rentals.
- Complete monthly assigned cycle counts of warehouse items.
- Oversee quality control (QC) for all equipment flowing through the department or into the field.
- Handle the receiving of all items, managing their reception and ensuring adherence to next step protocols.
- Interpret company policies and enforce safety regulations for the facility.
- Lead and assist with the repair and maintenance of instruments, including troubleshooting and repairing as required.
- Develop and maintain calibration procedures and methods.
- Identify out-of-tolerance conditions and perform corrective actions.
- Establish or adjust work procedures to meet production and shipping schedules on a daily basis.
- Recommend measures to improve production methods, equipment performance, and product quality.
- Coordinate activities with other supervisors to ensure smooth department operations.
- Perform other duties as assigned.
Requirements
- Ability to use hands for handling, feeling, and reaching objects, with the capacity for frequent standing, walking, and occasional sitting.
- Ability to lift and/or move up to 20 pounds frequently and up to 50 pounds occasionally.
- Ability to work safely in environments with exposure to moving mechanical parts and outside weather conditions.
- Ability to travel independently to customer and off-site locations.
- Bachelor’s degree or equivalent work experience.
- Valid driver's license required.
- Minimum of one (1) to two (2) years related experience and/or training at a supervisory level.
- Computer proficiency including Microsoft Office, CRM, ERP, and basic knowledge of company intranets and network drives.
