Summary of Position Functions


The Accounts Receivable (A/R) Accountant supports the day-to-day accounting activities of the Company, its month-end processes, year-end audit process, and various special projects that may arise.  This position contributes to the financial integrity, accuracy and timely recording, posting, and reporting of the Company’s financial transactions.  

Essential Position Functions


  • Performs daily cash application procedures by retrieving cash receipts detail, reconciling to bank activity, and applying payments to customer accounts in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Follows up with customer when payments do not fully clear invoiced amounts and works with internal teams to resolve variances as needed.
  • Maintains and updates secure system to allow customers to pay via credit card.
  • Assists in answering T2 phone line as second tier on incoming finance calls during business hours.
  • Fulfills customer requests for invoice copies and account information.
  • Responds to internal and external customer questions and requests appropriately and timely.
  • Records, applies, and posts daily checks, ACH, NSFs, and Credit Card Payments into ERP to balance cash account. Includes preparing deposit tickets when necessary.
  • Reviews bank activity to record bank fees and credit card fees in addition to identifying and researching any outstanding items.
  • Records standard journal entries and adhoc entries as needed to present accurate financial information
  • Assists, when necessary, in reconciling customer and sponsor payments for annual marketing event.
  • Communicates with co-workers and management in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Supports internal and external audit requests and prepares audit schedules
  • Presents and communicates financial information in writing and verbally
  • Provides support to management on special projects
  • Demonstrates knowledge of and supporting T2’s mission, vision, value statements, standards, policies and procedures, operating instructions, confidentiality standards, and the code of ethical behavior.
  • Confirms with and abides by all regulations, policies, work procedures, and instructions.

Education and Qualifications


To perform this position successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.  Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.

  • Either a two (2) year Associates degree in accounting or working toward a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
  • Understanding of US GAAP and SOX compliance
  • Prefer public accounting experience
  • 1-2 years of relevant experience.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Excel including formulas and pivot tables
  • Excellent multi-tasking skills and attention to detail required.

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities


  • Knowledge of various operating systems, software products (e.g. word processors, spreadsheet programs, etc.) is required and can be obtained through intellect, technical inclination, and dedication to gain such knowledge.
  • Knowledge of electronic and hard copy file maintenance, back-up, and organization.
  • Ability to handle high volume transactions
  • Ability to work in a cohesive team.
  • Ability to communicate fluently in English.
  • Ability to work independently.
  • Must have excellent organizational skills
  • Ability to read and interpret documents such as manuals and instructions.
  • Ability to write routine reports and correspondence.
  • Ability to speak effectively before customers and staff.
  • Ability to calculate and apply mathematical concepts.
  • Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form.
  • Ability to deal with problems involving several concrete variables.
  • Ability to prioritize tasks and tactfully negotiate priority with end users.
  • Ability to work under deadline pressure and extra hours if needed.
  • Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, commissions, and percentages.
