Position Summary:
Highest non-supervisory accounting position. Capable of handling most accounting problems with minimum assistance. Has significant involvement in oil and gas exploration

Essential Duties and Responsibilities:


  • Coordinates with other departments in resolving complex accounting problems and may assist in developing accounting policies
  • May function as a team leader or trainer for lower level Accountants
  • Generally works independent 
  • Examine whether the organization's objectives are reflected in its management activities, and whether employees understand the objectives
  • Confer with company officials about financial and regulatory matters
  • Supervise auditing of establishments, and determine scope of investigation required

Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:


  • Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
  • Actively looking for ways to help people
  • Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
  • The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
  • Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources

Preferred:


  • Big 4 experience is a plus 
  • CPA certified is a plus

Education and Experience:


  • Usually requires at least eight years experience in related field 
  • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
