Position Summary:
Highest non-supervisory accounting position. Capable of handling most accounting problems with minimum assistance. Has significant involvement in oil and gas exploration
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Coordinates with other departments in resolving complex accounting problems and may assist in developing accounting policies
- May function as a team leader or trainer for lower level Accountants
- Generally works independent
- Examine whether the organization's objectives are reflected in its management activities, and whether employees understand the objectives
- Confer with company officials about financial and regulatory matters
- Supervise auditing of establishments, and determine scope of investigation required
Knowledge, Skills & Abilities:
- Giving full attention to what other people are saying, taking time to understand the points being made, asking questions as appropriate, and not interrupting at inappropriate times
- Actively looking for ways to help people
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action
- The ability to apply general rules to specific problems to produce answers that make sense
- Knowledge of business and management principles involved in strategic planning, resource allocation, human resources modeling, leadership technique, production methods, and coordination of people and resources
Preferred:
- Big 4 experience is a plus
- CPA certified is a plus
Education and Experience:
- Usually requires at least eight years experience in related field
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting
