iParametrics is actively seeking a Cost Engineer to support a high-profile client renowned for their large-scale projects across diverse industries. This position will work closely with the clients, subcontractors, and crafts professionals. The Cost Engineer will review subcontractor and vendor change order requests to validate if the costs are fair, reasonable and in line with contract requirements.
The Cost Engineer will assist in project cost forecasting. This position will be on the project site located in Sunnyvale, CA.
Responsibilities:
- Establish and maintain job cost reports, manage budgets, commitments, forecasts, and contingencies.
- Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific category changes as outlined by the project requirements.
- Develop and maintain project indicators, including visual graphics.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to ensure cost proposals are fair and align with contract stipulations.
- Perform monthly reconciliations of project cost reports.
- Interpret design and construction documents to accurately quantify materials required.
- Systematically summarize material quantities for project needs.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is required.
- Education background in materials and methods of construction.
Experience:
- At least two (2) years of experience in project management, cost management, or cost estimating, specifically within general contracting or specialized subcontracting that focuses on civil, structural, or architectural scopes.
- Experience in industrial or semiconductor manufacturing projects is highly desirable.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office 365 and familiarity with project management software such as Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, and Primavera Project Planner (P6).
- Experience with design software including AutoCAD, Revit, and Navisworks.
- Strong ability to read, interpret, and organize construction-related documents and data.
- Excellent communication, time management, and teamwork skills; ability to work effectively under pressure.
- Flexible work schedule to accommodate project needs and timelines.
Essential Functions:
- Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
- Ability to perform physical activities such as climbing stairs and minimal lifting.
- Must maintain constant mental alertness and attention to detail.
- Ability to work independently and make critical decisions.
Benefits/Compensation:
As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly ($41-64) based on experience, background, and skills.
