About the team
The Group Marketing Team operates much like an internal agency, providing a set of defined specialist services to internal business units and functions across the world. Group Marketing is comprised of two dynamic ‘centres of excellence’ – Digital and Creative, both positioned to help drive quality execution and sharing the same passion for market standout and high performance.
The role
The Social Media Manager will be responsible for the GBG’s social media strategy, day-to-day planning, content creation and management of GBG’s social media accounts, helping to expand brand awareness, engagement and contribution to business growth across all regions.You will be the person who keeps our social media content impactful, fresh, engaging and optimised, with clear links to visitor needs and interestsYou will ensure effective representation of all business units and regions with content that really stands out from the competition You will be the go-to expert for social media, with knowledge of the latest trends, insights and opportunitiesYou will own GBG’s Social Media Advocacy programme, inspiring team members to raise their profiles and reach new audiences This role sits within our Group Marketing team, reporting to GBG’s Head of Digital.
What you will do
- Develop social media strategies that support our goal of increasing brand awareness and engagement
- Create, implement and execute social media plans in support of business unit level campaigns
- From brand and best practice perspectives – own the creation, scheduling and posting of all organic social content (including sponsored and boosted) across Linkedin, X and Facebook as principle B2B networks
- Operate collaboratively with other members of both Group and Business Unit marketing teams to ensure content is consistent and aligned to brand guidelines and principles
- Own social media performance reporting, providing key metrics and pro-actively asserting recommendations for improvements where possible
- Work with the wider business to manage a social content calendar that resonates across all target audiences
- Improve our social media practises and processes to improve speed and quality of content broadcast
- Regularly audit competitor activity to share insights and ideas
- Ensure content is tailored to each platform based on their purpose, audience and best practices
- Work closely with the design team in the development of channel assets
What we're looking for
- Social media marketing experience
- A broad understanding and practical understanding of digital and especially inbound marketing techniques within a fast-growing technology business
- A creative thinker who can support our external content evolving from good to great in a consistent manner
- A social media native, who appreciates the full opportunity afforded from these environments and demonstrable experience of adopting new trends, formats and platforms
- The ability to create and analyse data to identify areas for optimisation
- The ability to work with team members across all disciplines and international locations
- Strong familiarity with social media management software e.g. Hootsuite (preferrable)
- Google Analytics, Hubspot and Asana experience (All desirable)
