iParametrics is actively seeking a Senior Cost Engineer - Civil, Structural & Architectural(CSA) to support a high-profile client renowned for their large-scale projects across diverse industries. This role, based in Sunnyvale, CA, focuses on civil, structural, and architectural components of a semiconductor tool manufacturing facility project.
Reporting directly to the Project Cost Manager, the Senior Cost Engineer will play a crucial role in managing project costs through activities such as estimating, cost control, cost forecasting, and risk analysis. This position is ideal for individuals passionate about project management and keen on advancing their expertise in cost management on a grand scale.
Responsibilities:
- Setup and maintain job cost reports, manage budgets, commitments, forecasts, yet to buys, contingencies, and spends.
- Track costs by bid package, field order, and specific category of change as defined by the project.
- Maintain project indicators, including visual graphics.
- Collaborate with subcontractors and vendors to validate cost proposals.
- Conduct monthly reconciliation of project cost reports.
- Interpret design documents, construction documents, and technical manuals to quantify materials required for construction.
- Efficiently summarize material quantities.
Qualifications:
Education:
- High School diploma or GED required.
- Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering, Civil Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Construction Management, Architecture, or a related field is required.
- Knowledgeable in materials and methods of construction.
Experience:
- Minimum of five (5) years of experience in project management, cost management, or cost estimating roles, preferably within general contracting or specialty subcontracting focused on CSA scopes.
- Prior involvement in industrial and/or semiconductor manufacturing projects is preferred.
Skills:
- Proficiency in Windows and Microsoft Office 365 (Excel, Word, Outlook, PowerPoint, Teams).
- Familiarity with project management software (Prolog, Procore, E-Builder, Bluebeam, JDE, Smartsheet, Microsoft Project, Primavera Project Planner P6).
- Competence in design software (AutoCAD, Revit, Navisworks).
- Training in design and construction document reading, specifications, survey theory, and techniques.
- Excellent organizational, visual observation, and interpretation skills.
- Strong interpersonal, written, and oral communication skills.
- Ability to work flexibly to accommodate changing construction schedules.
Essential Functions:
- Combination of standing, walking, and sitting throughout the workday.
- Ability to climb stairs, lift/carry up to 20 lbs., and minimal bending/twisting.
- Requires mental alertness, precision, and attention to detail.
- Capable of working independently with strong problem-solving and organizational skills.
Benefits/Compensation:
As a W2 employee of iParametrics, team members are eligible for benefits such as medical, dental and vision, and the company matching 401K plan, subject to plan terms and applicable waiting periods. Compensation for this position is hourly ($41-64) based on experience, background, and skills. Rates are based on a 50 hour work week.
