OBJECTIVE:
The Senior Research Associate is responsible for performing flow cytometry and other immunological assays in support of scientific investigations. This is a laboratory-based position responsible for conducting in vitro experiments in order to produce reliable and precise data. The qualified candidate should be familiar with a variety of general laboratory techniques that are supportive of the research outlined in approved protocols. The incumbent should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.
- Provide junior staff members with guidance on planned experiments, as well as technical training on new procedures.
- Development of protocols and SOPs.
- Support of laboratory operations including instrument operation and maintenance.
- Experience with flow cytometry panel design.
- Collaborate with colleagues and clients to determine needs and develop/verify applications to support research.
QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS/MS in direct field /certifications & completed studies in direct field, continued education courses.
- 7 - 9+ years of experience in direct field.
- 3 - 5+ years of flow cytometry experience with demonstrated experience operating a flow cytometer (any). Additional immunoassay experience (e.g. Luminex, ELISpot, ELISA) a plus.
- Demonstrated experience working with 12+ color panels.
- Experience with data analysis, preferably FlowJo.
- Experience working with pre-clinical samples. Experience with non-human primate/rodent samples is preferred.
- Training/experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques. BSL-3 experience a plus.
