Position Summary:


The Software Engineer will lead the development of automated solutions for the materials handling industry, primarily at the back end. This role will work with software leadership to develop software solutions, including project design, coding, testing, installation, and follow-on support. This role is a key part of a multi-disciplinary engineering team that creates cutting-edge automated manufacturing and logistics projects for some of the world's most dynamic clients. This work integrates software solutions with robotics, autonomous vehicles, machine learning, and smart conveyor systems.

Primary Responsibilities:


  • Provide engineering support and technical expertise to develop enterprise-wide system architecture.
  • Perform as the technical lead in developing solutions for engineering studies and internet/intranet applications, systems engineering, systems integration, software engineering, architectural design, structured analysis, object-oriented principles, and tool suites.
  • Perform all phases of software development, including analysis, coding, testing, documentation, acceptance, and maintenance-sustainment, emphasizing ongoing phases.
  • Define and analyze system requirements, develop design specifications, translate specifications into programming logic, test and debug software, correct deficiencies before implementation, and determine user training requirements.
  • Provide technical expertise required for 75 ABW/SCP to produce management reports as needed, interpret business rules, and evaluate potential system improvements.
  • Will comply with FORTIFY software security findings in reducing potential risk issues when identified as possible risk factor problems.
  • Developing secure code that meets DoD and Air Force Information Assurance standards.
  • Maintaining the MPS/D230 system IAW DoD and Air Force policy/mandates.
  • Communicating with users and stakeholders.

Required Education and Experience:


  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or a related discipline or an equivalent combination of education and experience from which comparable knowledge and skills may be acquired
  • Minimum of five (5) years of experience with J2EE, Oracle J-Developer, and Eclipse to operate in the Information Technology Management (ITM) Integrated Development Environment (IDE) for deployment to Oracle database servers when needed.
  • Minimum five (5) years experience:
  • Working with Java and Java web servers
  • REST web services
  • Programming experience
  • Structured Query Language (SQL) coding in Oracle
  • Working in Hypertext Markup Language (HTML)
  • Working with Java server pages and JavaScript
  • Working with Web Development
  • Ability to learn new applications and technologies to accomplish daily tasks.
  • Excellent communication and writing skills.

Certification Requirements:


  • Obtain CASP+ Certification within 90 days of starting work.

Clearance Requirements:


  • Must be a U.S. Citizen
  • Able to acquire a DOD Secret Clearance
