This individual will work closely with the Chief Human Resources Officer to develop and implement a benefits strategy that meets the diverse needs of their employees, aligns with their vision to elevate healthcare, and is cost-effective.
RESPONSIBILITIES OF THE BENEFITS AND HRIS MANAGER:
- Manage benefits administration, including health and wellness offerings, leave programs, compliance and reporting, vendor contracts, and monthly budget and invoice management
- Serve as the internal and external contact for benefits and leave plans such as medical, dental, vision, critical illness, accidental, hospitalization insurance, health savings, and flexible spending accounts, as well as parental leave
- Oversee the annual Open Enrollment process, including education and communications
- Manage compliance activities related to ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA, and other federal and state regulations
- Coordinate preparation and quality review of compliance requirements, including 5500 filings, ACA monitoring, and CMS and Medicare notices
- Manage plan changes and health and welfare plan administration
- Stay informed about trends, regulatory changes, and new technologies in benefits
- Partner with the Finance team to ensure compliant payroll and retirement plan processes and practices
- Serve as the system administrator for ADP Workforce Now, managing employee data and records, generating reports, ensuring data accuracy and security, and troubleshooting system issues
- Establish and drive standard reporting to inform key decisions
- Assess and enhance the company’s health care plans and offerings
- Support efforts to expand diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging (DEIB)
- Drive health and wellness education and events
- Mentor other HR team members
- Maintain confidentiality, discretion, and tact
IDEAL CANDIDATES HAVE:
- Minimum of 5 years of relevant HR experience in benefits administration and HRIS
- Bachelor’s degree in a related field; HR credentials and certifications are a plus
- Knowledge of benefits administration laws, regulations, reporting, and best practices
- Experience with ADP Workforce Now is preferred
- Expert knowledge of compliance requirements for benefits, such as ADA, COBRA, ERISA, FMLA, HIPAA
- Proven experience in developing and delivering benefits and wellness education and content
- Experience in championing and supporting DEIB initiatives is a plus
