Administrative Assistant - Tax Department

The Opportunity
We are seeking a individual to join our Tax Administrative department in our Atlanta Office to support our tax department and handle other administrative duties within the firm as needed. Must be a proactive team player with a "can-do" attitude and the ability to multi-task. Must be professional with excellent communication and organizational skills. This individual will report to the Director of Tax.Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Responsible for sending out tax organizers, engagement letters, and tax returns
  • Process and send tax returns, extensions, and miscellaneous forms in accordance with governing agency filing requirements and internal standard operating procedures, in both paper and electronic format
  • Follow up with client for tax documents
  • Ensure client satisfaction
  • Monitor due date lists and e-file status
  • Assist in maintaining databases and client records
  • Support tax staff with additional tax administrative duties as assigned
  • Assist completing simple tax filings as needed

Qualifications and Experience

  • Ability to establish priorities, work independently, and proceed with objectives with little supervision
  • Excellent customer service skills; able to interact with clients in an efficient, courteous, and professional manner
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
  • Detail oriented and thorough; able to see how the details fit into the bigger picture in a task
  • Ability to handle and resolve recurring problems with a positive attitude
  • Ability to learn new software quickly
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite
  • Maintains a positive/cheerful attitude
  • High School graduate or equivalent; Associate's or Bachelor's degree preferred

Preferred Skills

  • Experience with CCH ProSystem fx software, CCH e-filing, XCM solutions
  • 2+ years of experience with corporate/personal tax preparation
