Job Summary:
We are looking for an ambitious Accounting Intern to provide support and assistance to our high-performance Accounting Team for Fall rotation. This internship is an excellent opportunity to gain valuable, hands-on experience in a dynamic, fast-paced work environment. You will have the chance to apply your knowledge of accounting concepts to real-world accounting operations, tax filings, and participation in a financial statement audit. Location: Atlanta, GA
Responsibilities and Duties:
- Attend semi-monthly Finance department meetings to understand the role of Accounting, Financial Planning & Analysis, and Human Resources in a tech environment
- Assist with timely and accurately reporting month-end close results, entering journal entries and reconciling balance sheet accounts in accordance with GAAP
- Perform research on tax notices received from federal, state, and local jurisdictions
- Support accounts receivable collections efforts
- Provide requested supporting documentation to external auditors to assist with the annual financial statement audit and annual income tax return preparation
- Organize and file customer and vendor contracts and associated supporting documentation
- Ad-hoc projects as requested (accounting system data validation and cleanup, fixed assets inventory, etc.)
Qualifications and Skills:
- Actively pursuing a Bachelor’s degree, with a major, or minor concentration, in Accounting
- Satisfactory completion of at least 9 hours of accounting coursework
- Minimum GPA of 3.0
- Ability to work independently and in a team-based environment
- Strong written communication skills
- Highly motivated with a desire to learn
- Strong attention to detail and commitment to quality
- Basic proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Word
