Qualifications
EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE:
Bachelor’s Degree from an accredited college or university in a computer-related field of study and six (6) or more years of proven experience in Java, Spring Boot, Angular 2+, Hibernate and Rest Services, and/or six (6) years of related experience or an equivalent combination of education, training, and/or experience. Experience in OS/SQL and Oracle database preferred.
RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Supports Software Architect to develop and maintain architectural direction and standards, incorporating emerging technologies and techniques.
- Develops architecture specifications and scaffolding, performs design and code reviews, and leads/mentors software engineers.
- Develops code assets, including prototypes, software architecture components, starter kits, client solutions, and microservices.
- Designs, builds, and maintains efficient, reusable, and reliable code in Java and related frameworks.
- Designs and develops software applications using HTML 5(Bootstrap), Docker, JavaScript; XML; CSS; Rest Services; Spring Boot; and Hibernate.
- Resolves production support issues, including troubleshooting, root cause analysis, debugging, configuration, and testing.
- Works with software engineers to ensure that development follows established processes and resulting software works as intended.
- Implements containerization technology strategies using Docker and Kubernetes.
- Works on building, scaling, and monitoring various highly complex applications, and making container orchestration clusters highly available.
- Builds and sets up new development tools and infrastructure.
- Selects and deploys appropriate CI/CD tools to automate and improve development and release processes.
- Provides post-implementation support to ensure a smooth transition to production of all services released for production.
- Interfaces with the business, technical staff, and vendors to shape requirements and direction of technology and support project-related activities.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES:
- Knowledge of Java 11+ and its ecosystems.
- Knowledge of Angular 2+ and its ecosystems.
- Knowledge and familiarity with Springboot, Hibernate, MVC, JDBC, and RESTful.
- Knowledge and familiarity working with microservices.• Ability to quickly absorb technical information and become a subject matter expert.• Ability to work independently on assignments given by a project manager/team lead.• Ability to communicate technical and non-technical information clearly and concisely to project stakeholders.• Knowledge of the complete software development life cycle (SDLC) from design through implementation.• Knowledge of creating self-contained, reusable, and testable modules and components.• Knowledge of project planning, project management, & risk management.• Ability to multi-task in a fast-paced environment.• Ability to follow complex oral and written instructions.• Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.• Ability to establish and maintain effective and cooperative working relationships with those contacted in the course of work.
