About the Optimism Collective and Optimism Unlimited
The Optimism Collective is redefining power to elevate humanity by building a more equitable internet. Our vision for this citizen-governed network: a composable, unified constellation of blockchains that can support internet-level activity; powered by the MIT-licensed open source OP Stack.To date, the Optimism Collective is defined by its focus on scaling Ethereum and funding public goods. We’ve processed hundreds of millions of transactions and are responsible for the largest ongoing public goods funding program in existence. Optimism Unlimited is a subsidiary of the Optimism Foundation that focuses on supporting the growth, adoption, and governance of the Optimism Collective.
What are the role responsibilities?
- Lead the development and scaling of the Retro Funding infrastructure, which includes overseeing the creation and refinement of various components such as:
- Retro Funding sign-up processes: Collecting relevant information from projects for the Retro Funding process
- Application review system: Filter out applications which are not compliant with application rules
- Voting application: Provide voting functionality for badgeholders to decide how to reward impact
- Information discovery systems for viewing and interacting with Retro funding results and upcoming Retro Funding rounds
- Define product requirements and specifications by gathering input from stakeholders, including Optimism governance participants and Optimism contributors, and aligning with the project's strategic goals.
- Collaborate with the design team to develop and define the user experience of all Retro Funding tools and interfaces.
- Engage with external engineering teams and partners through Foundation Missions to ensure the successful implementation and integration of various components of the Retro Funding ecosystem.
- Oversee and guide the full product lifecycle, from concept through launch and iterative improvements, ensuring alignment with user needs and Collective objectives.
What skills do you bring?
- Deep interest in summoning Ethers Phoenix.
- Proven experience in a product management role, with a strong track record of successfully shipping products.
- Specific experience in shipping Web3 products, demonstrating a deep understanding of blockchain technologies, decentralized applications, and their unique development challenges and opportunities.
- Experience working in or with decentralized governance systems, understanding the dynamics and mechanisms involved in community-led decision-making processes.
- Strong collaborative skills, with the ability to work effectively across internal and external teams to drive project milestones and deliverables.
- Willingness to get your hands dirty and work close to the ground, including performing manual tasks when necessary.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.
- A strategic thinker with an analytical mind, capable of breaking down complex problems into actionable steps and guiding teams towards solutions.
