OBJECTIVE:
The Research Associate II is responsible for performing flow cytometry and other immunological assays in support of scientific investigations. This is a laboratory-based position responsible for conducting in vitro experiments in order to produce reliable and precise data. The qualified candidate should be familiar with a variety of general laboratory techniques that are supportive of the research outlined in approved protocols. An applicant should be comfortable working in a fast-paced, dynamic, and team-oriented environment.EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS:
- BS in related field and certifications in direct field, continued education courses.
- 5-7 years of experience in direct field. Additional immunoassay experience (e.g. Luminex, ELISpot, ELISA) a plus.
- Experience working with pre-clinical samples. Experience with non-human primate/rodent samples is preferred.
- Training/experience with Biosafety Level 2 (BSL-2) techniques. BSL-3 experience a plus.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Plan and execute cell-based assays of animal samples. May perform tasks related to the research project independently, but within broad guidelines and subject to periodic review by supervisor or other research staff.
- Perform multicolor flow cytometric assays using conventional and spectral flow cytometry.
- Process tissues and blood (rodent or non-human primate origin) for in vitro assays.
- Maintain detailed records on experimentation and reagent/sample inventories.
- Perform testing of new methods and establish Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs).
- May assist in analyzing and interpreting experimental data.
