The Harris Poll is seeking a Staff Accountant to perform cash reconciliation, prepaid expense accounting, fixed assets, month-end accounting such as accruals, journal entries, balance sheet and reconciliations. In this role you will be working closely with and reporting to our Accounting Manager.
As Staff Accountant you will be working on the monthly, quarterly and annual close as well as working closely with the A/R and A/P teams. You will play a key role in ensuring the accuracy of the financial statements.For this position we need someone that is available to work either EST or CST hours.
Responsibilities:
- Assists with the monthly, quarterly, and annual closing of the general ledger, which includes the preparation of journal entries
- Conducts reconciliations and analyses of the general ledger and individual accounts
- Performs daily bank reconciliations
- Prepares data for cash flow forecasts
- Manages fixed asset continuity schedules and records depreciation
- Prepares supplementary schedules and analyzes data as needed
- Provides support for the accounts payable and receivable teams
- Collaborates with other departments and management to address issues and support business objectives
- Aids in the creation of financial statements and reports
- Assisting in audit requests related to A/R balances and client payments
- Reconcile intercompany A/R and A/P balances monthly
- Completes ad hoc requests as needed
Experience, Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree in Accounting required
- 2-3 years of relevant industry accounting experience, professional services experience preferred
- Demonstration of key accounting/finance competencies and qualifications
- Advanced computer skills, specifically in Excel
- Ability to deliver quality work on tight deadlines, with strong organization and prioritization skills
- Must be able to communicate financial information into sound business language
- Strong knowledge of US GAAP and financial analysis, including understanding of internal control requirements
- Strong understanding of finance
- Motivated, self-starter who thrives in team-oriented environment
- Strong interpersonal, communication and collaboration skills
- Maconomy experience a plus, but not required
$65,000 - $80,000 a yearIn order to comply with equal pay and salary transparency laws in various locations, we believe the target range of base compensation in all locations within the United States for this role is $65,000 - $80,000 USD.
